The final day of high school had begun. Ranma could feel the pain in his confused mind move down to his stomach. He knew this day would come, but he dreaded it. Though he hadn't realized it, this was the life he loved most of all. These were the people he knew all his life. Just the mere thought of being separated and never seeing his friends again after this day put him in a state of shock that wounded his heart forever. Then He thought of Akane's decision to go to college. His first choice was to go along with her, but think about all the people back at home. His dad, after all the training they went through to get where he is today-and think of all the Tendo's. He can't just leave them behind. Ranma again thought of never seeing his friends again. Every single thought he had pierced his mind. It was giving him a terrible headache. Each decision he made would separate him from someone he loved dearly. But what did he love the most?
Akane.
Right now that was all he could think of. He wanted her. He wanted her to stay with him and marry him and start a family. Ranma made up his mind and walked over to where Akane had been signing yearbooks. She stopped and looked at him.
"Yes Ranma? What is it?"
"Umm…"
"Yeah? Speak up."
"…." The word stood cold in Ranma's throat. He could not say what he wanted. "What is wrong with me?" Ranma thought awkwardly, but now he knew. What if Akane rejected him? What if she doesn't love him? The world seemed to go so slow like it came to a sudden stop.
"Akane, I…"
"What is it, Ranma?"
"I…."
Ranma looked at Akane straight in the eye and slowly advanced towards her face and gave her a gentle kiss.
"…."
"Oh Akane…."
"Actions are better than words."
"I know."
"Ranma, I know what you want."
"You do?"
"Yes. You want me to stay with you to take care of the Tendo Dojo. You want me to take care of you and be there when times are hard. I know for a fact, because you were there for me too."
"That's exactly right. I want you. I want you to love me and take care of our family."
"Our…?"
Ranma said what he said and it could not be taken back.
"Our. Akane, I want you to marry me."
"R….Ranma, I…I don't know what to say…"
"You don't have to say anything. Like you said, 'Actions are better than words.'"
They both leaned and kissed that seemed to last forever. They both knew that they would remember this day for the rest of their lives.
