The midsummer scenery seemed to be racing by the speeding carriage. The sunny yellow flowers and darting bees seemed to match Ella's personality perfectly. She and Char were returning from their month long honeymoon and Ella felt as if she could fly. She looked aside at a sleeping Char, his mouth slightly open and soft snores came out of him. Ella couldn't help but giggle at the sight. Her giggles made him wake up with a start. "Wha-what happened?" he asked, slightly dazed.
"Oh, nothing," she said, trying to stifle her giggle.
"I didn't fall asleep, did I?" he asked, feigning shock.
"Yes, you did, and my, weren't you a sight!" She couldn't help but laugh at her own joke.
"Oh, so you think that's funny, huh? How about this?" With that, he began to tickle her.
"No! No..." her sentence was interupted by her laughter. "Stop!" she managed to gasp out.
"You aren't ticklish, are you?" he asked, and continued,
"No! Stop! Yes, fine, I am!" she gasped out again. Suddenly the carriage they were in went over a bump, and Ella was thrown towards the carriage door. "Ow!" she yelled.
"Oh no, are you okay?" Char asked immedialtely concerned.
"Oh so now you stop," she commented dryly, and touched the part of her head where it had hit the door. She winced at the pain.
"Is it bad?" he asked her, his tone underlied with a bit of worry.
"No, it's fine. Just a bruise," she assured him. She looked out the window and pointed something in the distance. "Look!"
Char looked out the window with her. "It's the castle, Ella," he said, with much less enthusiasm. Ella stared at the huge building that would become her home. The castle was not made up of just one huge tower, but a tower and many surrounding buildings. There were gardens right outside with a pond around the back. "I love it," she commented.
"Well, I'm glad you do," he said, hugging her. The carriage drew closer and closer to their new home, and once they reached it, it stopped. Ella didn't even wait for the carriage to stop officially before hopping off. "Careful," she heard Char say behind her, and slowed down. Char eventually caught up, and they reached the huge double doors that would lead them inside. "Stay close, you could get lost in here," Char warned. Ella heeded his advice and stayed pretty close. He led them to another set of double doors smaller than the ones leading inside but more ornately decorated. "Let's go," he whispered, and they opened the door to reveal all the ladies and lords of the castle inside the throne room. "Welcome home!" they yelled at the newlyweds, and with laughter they both joined the party thrown especially for them.
