Why I did it

This is a slightly altered finale of season 3. There are some comparisons I'm surprised no one made. Review if you want me to follow up.
"Here's what I know. It wasn't Piz and it could NOT be less of your business!"
"Well, here's what I know. The last girlfriend of mine that got caught getting frisky on camera was killed. You'll have to excuse my not wanting to see your head bashed in," I calm down a little after getting that out. "If it wasn't Piz then I'm truly sorry, but you have to understand why I did it. I saw the video and it was just like Lilly all over again. I had to protect you."
"God Logan. I just… I'm sorry I didn't see it. I'll try and explain to Piz so he doesn't press charges."
"I don't care. I've been to court before. You just have to be okay. You're the one that matters."
"You can't say stuff like that. You matter."
"Not to you I don't. And my girlfriend just broke up with me because of what I did to Piz. Who else am I supposed to matter to?"
"Logan," she sighs. "You do matter to me. That's why I'm pissed you did something so stupid. Will it make you feel better if I let you investigate this video thing with me? You just have to promise to stop hitting when I tell you to! Okay?"
