Summary: If he has to
burn, he can't imagine a more lovely way. For
my au100 claim of Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy. This is the Big Ass
Table.
When they kiss, it's like fire in his belly, spreading through every nerve ending and warming every inch of him. When they kiss, he forgets the world he lives in and the way things are. It's like a security blanket, protecting him from what's bad, and blocking out what he doesn't want to be.
When Harry's hands are on his bare skin, it feels like fire, and sometimes when he's alone, he's tempted to check for scorch marks, if only beccause there's a lasting impression there.
When Harry looks at him, he can feel his heated stare on his skin and, sometimes, Draco thinks Harry will burn him into nothingness. What scares Draco, just a little, is the fact that he wouldn't mind so much. Not when the world is going into hell in a handbasket, sliding in a downward spiral very quickly.
Whatever time he spends with Harry is different from any other time Draco spends doing anything else. Harry awakens something deep inside Draco and makes him feel as if he's burning. The heat is so unbearable, and sometimes, Draco thinks he may explode into flames.
And he doesn't fight it. He can either face the world or stick with Harry. And he'd rather the latter. If he has to burn, he can't imagine a more lovely way.
