River Dragon

This one-shot was written for my friend of her OC x Haku from Spirited Away. I'm not sure it's the best I could do so I'm sorry! :( But I hope you enjoy it anyway! This fic was written for fun, not profit.

Annabel studied herself in front of a full-length mirror, one hand playing with a lock of her long brown hair and the other tightly clutching the golden locket she received from her mother. Taking a deep breath, she straightened her light blue t-shirt over her denim shorts. "Today's the day." She told herself, "Today's the day that I tell Haku that…that I…"

Her pep talk was interrupted by a knock and a head peering through the crack in her door. "Almost ready?"

Annabel turned to smile at Haku. His dark green t-shirt really accented his chin-length black hair. His black shorts didn't look too bad either. "Yep! But you still haven't told me where we're going."

Haku just smiled in response. "It's a secret." He held out his hand and Annabel took it as they headed out.

It wasn't long until they arrived at an amusement park. Annabel's entire face lit up.

"Do you like it?" Haku asked. Annabel just nodded in response and they entered the park. They scanned the rides and Annabel soon giggled and pointed at one called "River Dragon." Haku sighed, but smiled. They went on it – it was a boat ride down a small river, with the boats decorated to look like dragons.

'This is perfect.' Annabel thought. 'Tell him once you get off the ride.' The ride ended after a moment and she and Haku got off. "Haku, I—" Annabel started and stopped.

"What is it?"

"Never mind." She answered, smiling. 'Not the right time yet.' She decided.

Haku smiled back and pointed to a Ferris wheel. "Shall we go on that one next?" Annabel nodded and off they went.

After the Ferris wheel came a roller coaster, then a spinning yo-yo, then laser tag and finally a haunted house. With each attraction, Annabel tried to tell Haku what she was hiding, but she always chickened out at the last moment.

Finally, it was time to get ready to go and the couple decided to go on one last ride before leaving. They eventually decided to head back to the Ferris wheel, as they both really liked it.

Slowly, their car went up, up, up, until it was nearly to the top and Annabel knew this was the time. It was her last chance if she wanted to tell him today. At the moment their car reached the absolute top, Annabel turned to Haku and took a deep breath. "I love you!"

Haku smiled. "I know." He leaned in closer to her, their bodies touching, side to side, in the small Ferris wheel car. "I love you too." And then he kissed her.
