Return to the Past

Peering silently through the night,
Shadows lurking, bracing fright.
Winds of terror, breaking through,
What have I done to you?
Darkness overwhelms, lost again,
Back to where I began.
Feeling more strength in your power.
Destroying even a delicate flower.
Stealing all else, knowing not one,
Finding no where else to run.
Trapped in death, giving up life.
Endless battle to endless strife.
Meaningless love shines it light,
Rays of friendship burning bright.
Defeated, you come and set me free,
Why couldn't I see, that you belong to me?
