So I'm really excited you guys like this, especially since these are one shots flowing into parts. I'm going through a break up right now but this will take my mind off things.

Part 3: Mine

Paul sat at Bella's feet as Sam stood in the middle of the room. "They want to meet at the treaty line to discuss the best course of action." A few mutters of disagreement passed through the room before they were hushed. Sam turn his attention to Bella next. "They've requested you be there, but will understand if you won't." Before Bella could speak, Jacob shouted out, "Hell no! That's crazy." While Bella agreed, she wanted to answer for herself. "I believed Sam was looking for my opinion. No. I won't go. Unless it's necessary." Same nodded respecting her opinion. "You'll stay here with Em. I'll leave.." While Sam was trying to figure out which wolf was better on guard duty for an imprint and a human (AN: There is no Kim here) Paul stood up stretching. "I'll stay." Bella snapped her head in his direction missing Sam's sly, yet satisfied expression.

"Paul...you're the best fighter. If anything happens.." Paul sat next to Bella and covered her mouth with his hand as he shook his head. Once again, the room went silent watching the violent shifter handle their weakest "member" in a caring manner.

"Then I'm better here. They can handle those bloodsuckers. The redhead? I can fend off. They'll find everything they know about the tiny ones vision. She won't get you. Understand?" Bella just nodded. He smiled and sat against the couch cushions. He took in everyone's shocked expressions and shrugged. "What?" Quill shook his head slowly. "Nothing...Sam when's this meeting?" Checking the clock he walked towards the door. "In about 45 minutes. I want to get there early to scout. Let's go." As the boys stood and filed out, Sam bent down kissing Emily softly and he gave Paul a stern look that said take care of my imprint and Bella.

Same and Paul understood each other very well and Paul gave a small nod in return. With that Sam too left leaving the girls and Paul alone. The room was quiet until Emily scooted next to Paul and turned on the tv. He was sandwiched between two women who were engrossed into some move called Dusk. "What's so good about this? It's literally crap." Paul rolled his eyes as the blonde girl on the screen practically threw herself at the man before her. "Shh. It's a great movie. Becca falls madly in love with a stranger who happens to be a werewolf. He hates her of course but she's ever persistent in showing him that he can have a life with her. Shh! It's the good part!" Emily lightly smaked his arm and he just shook his head. Bella leaned against him and he looked down at her briefly before turning his eyes back to the screen.

Hours later both women were asleep, each laying a head on his shoulder. He looked down at both women and shook his head. First, he gently pushed Bella to the arm rest as she was closer to support, and then he turned towards Emily who slept like the dead. Getting her up would be a struggle. He stood and picked up the sleeping woman, and walked down the hall and deposited her into her bed. Walking back into the living room, he picked up Bella next. Doing the same, he smoothed his fingers over her forehead softly. He really took her in and suddenly thought of Charlie.

"Look at me boy." Paul was on his knees as Charlie looked at him through half closed eyes.

"I know. Bella's mixed up in this crazy mess. She's gonna want to give up son, but I'm begging you, please don't let her. She needs to live. Promise me. You'll catch this crazy..whatever she is. Bella is the most important thing to me in this world. Protect her. For me."

"I promise."

Paul stood and left the door open just as he did Emily's and walked outside. Taking off his shorts, her phased on the lawn as it was night fall. While he listened in through the pack mind his attention was focused on any new scents. He sat there for what seemed like hours which was only one. The door opened and Bella approached him cautiously. She had never seen one of the boys phase and they were massive. She cautiously sat down a few feet away from him, and as if on que, he turned his head just watching her. Her eyes were wide in wonder. "Can I..touch you?" Paul laid on all fours and laid his head in Bella's lap. She ran her fingers through his fur and watched the stars.

"I'm sorry." She whispered. His eyes were on her in seconds and Bella looked down, caught in a pool of emotions. His eyes seemed so human and while uncanny, it was different. "I wish there was something I could do to help. Like a trap..bait." Paul couldn't help the deep growl that left his body. Bella unnerved now, just patted his head. "It's stupid I know..but she'll slaughter a town to get to me. She killed Charlie to get to me. Which means she'll get any of you to get to me. I need to be a step ahead. We all do." Paul just let out a huff and watched the woods.

He could hear his brothers running back and he lifted his head and sat up, once again towering over Bella. She just watched him for the moment and then stood. Paul, not really interested in a play by play since he was half focused on the meeting anyway, turned his head towards her once again. She blushed and stepped back a little. "That is just...freaky." She once again reached out to him, stroking his fur, and scratching behind his ear. His tail softly tapped against the ground. Bella giggled and stopped. "You really are like dogs...just intelligent." He playfully nipped at her hands and she laughed. "I'll be inside."

Bella walked back inside and Paul watched her momentarily. He unphased, quickly redressed, and sat waiting for Sam's instructions. "The leech is planning an army. A big one. This is where the tiny one foresees Bella's death. I wanted to know the details but she's tight lipped on it. Since we have been involved in Bella's life, she cannot see the outcome. Somehow we block her visions. The only thing she can see is the leech...Victoria...killing Bella. They want Bella on their turf but I said no. We all know how she feels about them. The...one named Jasper is going to be sparring with us. While we know what we do, he has good training when killing vampires. Every night we're meeting in the clearing for a few hours. We need to be prepared. It's not only our lives but Forks. Paul I want you to go with Bella to her place and bring clothes, whatever she needs. She'll be here with Em and I. Jared and Embry, I want you to take the East, Jacob take the West, Quil, the North. Paul and I have got it here. Good? Great, let's go." Paul stood and watched as everyone filed out. "Do you trust them?" Paul asked.

Sam looked at the ground before he met Paul's eyes. "Everyone except Edward. I don't want to trust them..but we have bigger problems. Be careful."

Paul walked inside and noticed Bella was already at the door. "So are we driving? My truck is still here." Paul smiles and nods taking her by the shoulders. As they leave Sam's driveway, Paul becomes tense as Bella drives. "I don't know if one of them will be at the house. Just stay close to me okay? We're just picking up a few clothes and things." Bella nodded. Her hands tightened slightly on the wheel.

Paul could hear Bella's heart beat speed up the closer they got to ..home. He tightened his fist and waited until Bella parked. As she turned off the ignition, Paul reached over and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. She looked over at him, many warring emotions in her eyes. "I'm here Bella." It was once again he said to her what he always did, and Bella just stared at him for the moment. She leaned in slowly as his heat started to slowly wrap around her in a blanket. Her eyes traveled to his lips and then his eyes, asking for something he would have given to her without question.

He cupped Bella's chin and pulled her close as their lips met in a sure and slow battle of exploration. His breath became hers and vise versa. The soft biting of her lip pulled Bella back to reality that she just kissed a shifter, the most violent one at that, and that she could die in two weeks and here she is getting attached. She pulled back slowly and shook her head. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have.." She stopped as Paul was looking at her in a way that made her feel desired. Like the only person in the world. She knew from experience when their wolf like personalities were close to the surface. His most definitely was.

"You should have. Don't be sorry." He cocked his head to the side, examining her. He reached out with one hand pulling her close to him once again. "I don't like people, and humans really aren't on my list of favorites except Emily and you. But I don't feel for Emily or any other human like I do you. Since that day in your kitchen, you're all I can think about. When watching your house, I'm the one here all the time. I'd rather be here with you than with my pack patrolling the woods, I'd rather be here with you, than alone, waiting on some cosmic magic bullshit which I doubt will ever happen. If it did, and unlike Jacob, I will fight it and break it. You know why? Because not only does the man like you, the wolf adores you. Every minute apart I'm calculating the distance from wherever I am to you, tracking the distance and which ways are faster. When you jumped I was...ready to go on a rampage. To hide you away until Victoria was caught. This is more than my promise to your father. Somewhere along the way...I treated you like the most exquisite wine. I hold you the way Sam does Emily, when you're sleeping I brush my hands across your forehead, I listen to your heartbeat, I defend you when you're sleeping. Somewhere along the way Bella, you became the only thing I see. No I haven't imprinted and it's a good thing because how I feel for you...the wolf does too with no magic involved to alter anything. Do you understand what I'm telling you? I'm in love you. I have been since Charlie's funeral. I will do anything in my power to protect you and I mean it when I say that Victoria will not get her hands on you. She will die and you will not have a scratch on your head. Charlie's death will not go in vain and you will not be following him anytime soon."

His eyes were so sincere as he spoke and Bella could do nothing but sit there in awe. Her heart lurched and she could feel the little tugging in her heart. She never thought he could possibly see her that way. She felt that things were different and the way they acted weren't normal. She only interacted with Jacob at first and now mostly with Sam and Paul. Paul being the only wolf she liked being around. "I don't know what to say..." She whispered. Paul brushed her hair back again. "Say yes." He whispered, his eyes roaming her from head to toe.

Bella just nodded and grabbed his face. His hands rested on her hips as she really explored his mouth once again, but with a new feeling in her heart. Hope. She pulled away as the hairs on the back of her neck stood up. He rumbled beneath her and scanned the area. "Are they...? Is she?" He moved her to the seat and shushed her. "No. One of the Cullens. Don't open that door until I come to open it." He quickly hopped out of the passenger side and walked around quickly to the drivers side. Opening her door, he grabbed her hand, gently pulling her out. Slamming the door shut, he pulled her to his side and grabbed the house keys, while scanning the woods. He opened the front door and pulled her to his back as he steeped in first. His nose wrinkled as he could smell the fresh scent of Cullen.

"She's not coming inside until I can see you." He snapped. He hated games and he wasn't in the playing mood with Bella in his arms. A soft breeze went by and there standing in front of Paul was Edward. Bella peeked from behind Paul's frame and squared her shoulders. She slid next to him and took his hand. Paul gently squeezed her hand and waited. Bella took a deep breath and looked at Edward. "I want you to do something. Will you follow through?" Edward was confused but nodded. "Anything." He answered looking into her eyes. His topaz eyes were still the same and Bella just blinked, unbothered. "Promise me." She stated. The same words he used. "Anything." Bella narrowed her eyes, "Once this is done, once Victoria is dead, I want you all to leave." Even Edward couldn't hide the shock on his face. "Bella..I came back for you." He stated brokenly, yet hopeful. "You came back for the wrong Bella. This Bella..me...I'm not the same. The Bella you left was sad and depressed up until her father died by one of your kind. I'm the new Bella. In my eyes..you left me here to die knowing that she was upset over the death of her mate. You let Charlie die. He was all I had. People of Forks are going missing. In Washington..missing. Because of me and my association with you. I'm asking you because I am no longer the same Bella. I have found something else worth living for, and I hope it will last. Promise me." She stated.

"I can't." He whispered. Bella just nodded and let go of Paul's hand. She walked upstairs and the two supernaturals watched until she disappeared. "She won't love you." Edward said, still watching the stairs. Paul snorted and looked at him. "First out of my head if we'll be working together. Second..it doesn't matter. She's mine." Edward stared Paul down, challenging him. "He's right Edward." Bella whispered from the stairs. She came down with a duffel bag and handed it to Paul. "This is where I want to be. I just want to live and find out if it's possible. That's what you wanted right?" Paul took Bella's hand and led her back outside and towards her truck. Edward watched from the house as the two left. "Not like this..." He whispered.
