Summary: Real men know how to accept defeat.
Sportsmanship
The Championship match is finally over and Seigaku was hailed as the champion. The Rikkai Dai regulars stood by the exit of the stadium, all of them are blaming themselves for their defeat. But Yukimura wasn't thinking about it, he was thinking about what to tell them so they would feel much better.
"I know what you are thinking," he said and everyone looked at him. "No one is at fault here, we all did our best and you know that. It's just that they have improved so much even in the game itself to the point that they have exceeded their limitations and no one not even Renji predicted it." He smiled at them and continued, "we're still a team here, win together, lose together, we're teammates, right?"
Akaya gathered all his courage to tell his captain, "but we've worked so hard and we were determined enough to defeat them, it seems like all our efforts are put into waste." Yukimura just smiled for he understands what his kouhai feels but he told him,
"There's no point in moping around Akaya, sometimes, not everything that you wanted and worked hard for is always meant to be yours. Somehow you lose, but when you lose, there will come a better one that you surely deserve more than anything." Akaya looked down and Yukimura continued, "and moreover our efforts weren't put into waste because Seigaku gave us a match that is truly worth it."
"Buchou's right Akaya." Jackal reassured him and everyone nodded in agreement.
"It's not that the championship's not really meant for us," Niou spoke seriously. "I think we just had our turn and it's about time for other people to have it, right?" He looked up when he noticed that everyone is staring at him in amusement. "Why?" He asked them.
"I didn't think something that sensible would come out of your mouth." Renji told him and everyone laughed.
"What are you trying to say?" He asked and everyone continued laughing.
"But seriously, Niou is right we had the chance to get hold of the championship and it's Seigaku's turn now," he said. They all agreed but Niou continued to question Renji's statement earlier and everyone except Sanada began laughing again.
"It's good to see them laugh out like that and see them recovered after being defeated, right?" Yukimura told Sanada.
"Right." He agreed.
The team decided to go to a coffee shop to celebrate Niou's sensible words and the sportsmanship everyone had shown.
A/N: Does it sound like a sequel? Haha. I hope you like it and oh, please be free to give your reviews about it so I'll know what is wrong about it. Thank you!
