Adam and Maria were sitting in their house with the two little ones Angel and Scott. Scott was sitting on Adam's lap in the rocking chair in front of the fire place as a farm hand added more logs onto the fire to help keep the family warm.

"Mr. Cartwright, is that all you needed?" Jake the farm hand asked him.

"Yes it is Jake thank you," Adam replied with a smile.

"You're welcome sir," Jake replied and left to go to the bunkhouse.

Adam glanced over and saw Maria and Angel were sitting on the floor as Maria took Angel's measurements for a new dress.

"How's the dress coming dear?" Adam asked with a smile just loving to see his wife with Angel.

"Good, she even picked out the fabric when we went to the store today, Scott go get the things you picked out," Maria told him and Scott smiled, got off Adam's lap and ran upstairs.

There was a knock on the door, Adam chuckled as he got out of his chair and went to the door. Slowly opening the door he glanced out and saw Roy and the judge there, "Uh, come on in," Adam said fearing that they are bringing bad news.

"Thank you Adam," Roy said as he entered the house.

"Anytime Roy, so what brings you two out here?" Adam asked as he watched as Angel placed a small ornament on the tree.

"Well, we came with the adoption news," Judge Martins told him with a straight face.

"Oh, what, what's the news?" Maria asked softly.

Judge Martins handed Adam a pack of papers.

Adam slowly unfolded the papers and a smile came to his face, "we," was all he got out.

"We what Adam dear?" Maria asked walking over to him as she held Angel on her hip.

"We, we're parents," he told her and smiled when he saw the smile on her face get bigger.

"We, we get them as ours?" she asked getting a nod from Adam. She hugged Angel tighter, "you hear that baby girl?"

"Mommy?" Angel asked.

Maria nodded, "yes honey, and that's daddy."

"Yay," Angel spoke happily as she gave her new mommy a hug.

"How about for our first official day of being a family why don't we have a fun filled dinner?" Adam asked with a smile.

"Sounds good, we can get Scott and the kids can help make cookies afterwards," Maria told him with a huge smile.

The two of them were really happy that they got their Christmas wish of allowing them to be parents of two wonderful kids.

Later that night after Maria was in bed, Adam slowly crawled out of bed and made his way to his son and daughters room.

Slowly walking down the hallway Adam had a small smile upon his face, arriving at the room he took a deep short breath as he slowly opened the door. Seeing the two sleeping children tucked into bed, seeing the blankets were falling off of his daughter he walked the short distance and covered her up rest of the way. Lightly kissing her on the forehead, she stirred but never woken, he went over to his son and kissed him on the forehead also and tucked him in more.

He was one lucky man to have such a lovely wife and two great children, after walking over to the door he glanced up at the ceiling and the soft words came from his lips, "Thank you Santa, this is the best Christmas yet to come," he whispered then made his way back to the room, crawled into bed next to his sleeping wife, turning the light back down he rolled onto his side, placed his arm around Maria and fell asleep with a night full of wonderful dreams.
