"This is an impressive document,"
Dr Foster said, holding the fat manila file in her hands. "When did
you do all of this?"
Ria shrugged. "You know. Here and
there."
"I'm sure. Well, I'll pass it on to Dr Lightman,
if you like."
"Oh – well..."
"Only if you want."
She
swallowed. "There's nothing in there I don't want him to see.
It's just, well, he might find it a bit..."
"A
bit...?"
"Juvenile."
Foster studied her face for a
moment, then blinked in recognition.
"This is that thing with
the gum, isn't it?" she asked wryly.
"Amongst... other
things, yes, it is the thing with the gum," Torres replied.
"Ah.
I see. Well, I'll show him this," she hefted the file, "but
maybe not tell him about its entire contents?"
"That would be
wonderful."
"Thank you, Ria," the psychologist smiled. That
was a cue to leave if anything. Torres took her leave.
Alone in her office, Gillian examined the folder in front of her. Then, grinning slightly, undid the cord that kept it together and looked at the first sheet. It contained a summary of an experiment she remembered rather well...
