She flinched in her sleep, rolling over. I wanted nothing more than to climb in through the window and take her into my arms. I wanted to hold her close, and tell her that her nightmare was over. I would tell her I was here, and nothing would hurt her because I'd protect her.

Maybe she'd forget how many times I had hurt her. Maybe she would forget how many times I hurt her friends. Would she understand the only reason I destroyed the town was so that I could fight her? Could she understand that I liked fighting her because it would be the only time I could ever touch her?

She sat up straight in her bed, glancing around the room. A sweat dripped down from her forehead and she ran her fingers through her hair. She looked right at me, or rather through me, as I was using cloaking technology to make myself invisible to her.

"Show yourself," She spoke out loud. I didn't move at all and she continued, "I can sense someones presence, where are you?"

I was about to slide in her window when Beast Boy landed on her bed, "Rae, you where having a bad dream. I heard you muttering from my room."

"I'm fine, I get them all the time, its late, go to sleep," Raven said back. Beast Boy left the room and she leaned back on her pillow, staring at the ceiling, "Tonight's going to be a long night."

It took her about an hour to fall back to sleep again. It was only five minutes after that when she tossed and turned, crying "stop" and "don't hurt them". It was explicit that she was dreaming about her father, and I wanted to help her so badly. I was part of the reason he hurt her. Taking a deep breath I slid in her window. My mask was the only thing that changed me from "Slade, their worst enemy" to "Slade Wilson" but I couldn't take it off. I sat on the edge of her bed and ran my fingers down her soft cheek. I lifted her delicate, thin body and held her close to me. She unconsciously turned in, pressing herself closer to my chest. Her nightmare stopped and I snapped off my mask, kissing her forehead before laying her back on her bed. I pulled a black rose out of my pocket and slipped it in her left hand before sliding back out of her window.

The next morning the young titan woke up and exmind the rose left by her bed. She opened the attached note:

You twitch in your sleep. Some nights you cry. I want to help you feel better, Raven. I promise no harm will come to you if you let me. Leave your window unlocked again tonight if you want my help.

The note wasn't signed. Raven looked around her room, then back at the note. She placed the rose in some water and left it on her dresser. Her window was locked again, though she knew she had left it open. Raven place her fingers on the lock and turned it to 'open'.

'I'll know who it was from tonight,' Raven thought to herself.
