He kept the name Alfie. It was short, easy, and efficient. Most importantly, Castiel, liked it.

Alfie was standing in a loose apron in the kitchen of the apartment, when Castiel walked in. "um.. hey..?"

Castiel was still learning human interaction. With Dean helping him, he was not making much progress.

Alfie smiled. "Hello Castiel." Alfie looked over, smiling, he was truly happy.

"um.. what are you making?" Castiel asks hesitantly.

"Soup." Alfie answers briefly.

Castiel nods, standing awkwardly. "So um.."

Alfie turns off the stove, and fully faces Castiel. "Yes?"

Castiel nervously looks in another direction. "Cas, look at me.." Alfie says in his soft, adorable, innocent voice.

"I.. uh" Castiel responds, looking down.

Alfie walks up to Castiel, placing his hand on his chin, moving his face towards his. Their eyes meet for only a second. "Cas?" Alfie whispers. "I love you." And before Castiel could respond, Alfie leans in quickly, planting a kiss on Castiel.

Before Alfie opened his eyes again, he felt a gust of wind, and Castiel was gone. Alfie sighed.

Alfie didn't die, he just became human. He doesn't know how, but he's grateful and happy. Most importantly, he's with Castiel, who is the most important person to him.

Castiel of course knows how Alfie didn't die. Castiel revived him. He felt he needed Alfie, which now, he knew it was the right decision.

At 4:30, Castiel showed up at the foot of Alfie's bed. Wounded. "Alfie.." Castiel's voice was strained and weak. Alfie woke up to the sound of Castiel's body thud on the floor. Alfie quickly got off his bed, "Castiel?"
