Summary: Dribble about a favorite Without a Trace couple. Please, constructive criticism only. Feel free to send your thoughts on what couple it is. Keep in mind that I haven't written WAT for awhile either.
Irrational. Irresponsible. Dangerous. Heartbreaking. Devestating. The reasons went on and on, why it was a bad idea. Why she wouldn't answer the phone. Why she wouldn't want to have anything to do with him. Betrayal. How many times had he let her down? Not been there for her? How could he even ask it of her again? Approach. It was easier to say he was sorry when he was face to face with her. Would she accept? Flowers. What kind? Not roses, too cliché. If there was anything she wasn't, it was cliché. He had to see her. Regardless.
Door. Waiting. Heart pounding. So close to giving up, to chickening out yet again. Time. How many times had he stood at her door? Fear. How many times had he given in to the old fear. Denial. She wouldn't want him. She wouldn't need him. It was over. There was no more running. Regardless.
The door opens. She stands there, looking, waiting. The old feelings sweep over him again, like every time he sees her. Wild. Passionate. Strong. Crazy. Beautiful. She was all those things. The way he loved her was all those things. Irreplaceable, with anything or anyone. Timeless. Never ending. Love. Regardless.
Smile. She smiled and he wondered what she was thinking. She let him inside, taking the calla lilies. Favorite. She said they were her favorite flowers and he thought of how he'd instinctively known. Thanks. She thanked him and it was all he could do not to cry that he was the one that should be thanking her for letting him inside, for giving him another second chance. Regardless.
