Never Again

By Trick Steven

To never again feel the warm summer breeze on my face,

A caressing hand on my brow,

Or a lover's kiss.

To never again be able to feel my wife's sweet hug,

To taste the bitterness of home brewed coffee,

Or to walk around in the streets without any accusing stares.

I am a man who cannot feel the pleasures in this world,

Nor can I feel in my numb soul,

My body,

My heart,

My life,

Is entombed in ice.
