I always kind of wanted to write something like this..

My last fic was a flop (I liked it though XD)

but I don't care, I'll write something else for Pokemon! I had this story in my notebook from before, but I'm tweaking it a bit.

disclaimer: I don't own pokemon, but I've been getting pretty obsessed lately

Set right before Pokemon Advance. Basically: Introducing May and Max! (so it's kind of a mixture between Pokemon Emerald and the anime)

Pokemon Emerald: Live Action

Chapter One: A new region! The Hoenn region!

May was sleepy and hungry. The sun's rays shone from a nearby window, which she promptly shut. She wanted to go back to sleep...

Today was the day she would get her very first pokemon! But it's our little secret that she doesn't really like pokemon, okay? She'd give up pokemon any day if she could just travel the world...

"Morning May," greeted her little brother, Max. Max adjusted his glasses. May was too sleepy to even notice what he was doing. She started making herself pancakes and piled them on a plate when she was done.

"So which pokemon should I get..." mumbled May sleepily, piling some pancakes on a plate. She really didn't care which one. She wanted to get this over with as quickly as possible so that she could have an excuse to travel.

"Mm-hm, May..." Max obviously wasn't listening. May devoured the pancakes, not even realizing that wasn't an actual answer.

Suddenly, Max jumped up from the table. "Oh no! Liz!"

May stopped pigging out for a second to smirk at him. "I didn't know Maxie had a girlfriend."

"No, Liz is my first pokemon!"

"...What first pokemon? You got a pokemon before me?"

"Are you blind, May? My handheld! My PGC (Poké Gaming Console)!" Max literally shoved the PGC into his sister's face. It looked very much like a GBA. It was matte white, unlike the DSi released in the United States. That last sentence wasn't bitter at all. "Hello? I just got it last week from grandma."

"I don't get it," stated May. "Why doesn't grandma ever get me anything?"

"Grandma doesn't like you," answered Max.

May sulked. But after a while she got over it. "So how does this fancy gadget get you your first pokemon? It's not inside this thing is it?" May tapped the PGC. Max snatched it away from her.

"Don't touch it with your dirty hands!"

"Well EXCUSE me for having dirty hands!"

Max gave his sister a disappointed look. She somehow had syrup all over herself.

"Anyway...you put a video game cartridge in this slot here. A cartridge like this one." Max pulled out a small game from his pocket. "This is my puzzle game that grandma also sent me. The game in the PGC now is a pokemon game. I get to virtually raise pokemon after virtually catching them, and I have to virtually battle with them and I virtually lose the battle if my pokemon virtually faints. Like Liz. Liz fainted."

"Oh...I was going to get a real live breathing pokemon," said May.

Max shrugged. "Liz'll be fine after I go to a pokemon center. This is loads more fun than any real pokemon."

"How? What do you do, just virtually battle with other trainers? How's that fun?"

"You can compete in contests, gyms, and even extra stuff in this game! Like, you can get a job as a gym trainer, or you can sell ice cream. It's so much better than real life!" said Max excitedly.

"Can you do all of those things at once?" asked May, getting wrapped up in the enthusiasm.

"If you wanted to..." answered Max.

"I want a PGC! Let's go to the mall!" exclaimed May.

"Okay, but get a wireless connection so we can link up and trade pokemon or battle!" said Max.

"ALRIGHT! Then forget going to Littleroot town to grab a pokemon! To the mall!"
