AN: So I was in the mood to write something, and I was trying to think of just what I could write. I've always liked this pairing for some reason, so I decided to write some of it. I apologize if it's not up to par, but I like it.

Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto or anything to do with it.

Sasuke stared solemnly out the window. Rain streaked down the glass, leaving trails behind it. Sasuke furrowed his brow. Why was he acting like this? What the hell was wrong with him? Shaking his head, he turned away from the window.

It had only been a few words. Nothing big. Nothing of consequence. All she had done was mutter something to him as he turned from training. So why did it effect him the way that it did? She was nothing special. In fact, she was the exact opposite from special. She was completely mundane. She was so mundane she had been rejected by her father.

But that's what she got for being such a coward. Sasuke frowned. No. There was no way she meant anything to him. Not that little fool.

It was at that moment that a knock sounded on his door. "Coming." Sasuke kicked a pair of shorts out of his path as he made his way over to the door. Who would be here this late? What do they want?

He yawned and opened the door. "Yeah? Oh."

His eyes fell upon the blue-black hair of Hinata. She blushed profoundly as his gaze turned to her. "H-Hello, S-S-Sasuke," she stuttered.

"What do you want?" Sasuke asked, leaning against his doorframe. He found himself slightly uncomfortable talking to her in his pajamas. Judging by the blush flaming on her cheeks, he could tell she wasn't exactly talking to a boy in his boxers, either.

Hinata made a point of staring directly at the ground. "I-I was just here to give you th-this." She held out her hand, showing him a kunai.

Sasuke cocked his head. "What's with the kunai? I've got plenty of them."

Hinata blushed deeper. "Yes, but this one has something written on it." She showed the kunai to him, allowing the markings to reflect in the light from Sasuke's apartment.

Gasping, Sasuke nodded. "Yeah." The kunai was something his mother had given to him when he had turned six. It had no edge and had been meant as a symbol for his starting the academy. Written on it were the words, Good luck to my son. You know you're loved, dearest Sasuke. He must have gotten it mixed up with some of his other kunai that morning.

Now it was Sasuke's turn to blush a bit. I can't believe she read that. "Um, Hinata, thanks." He reached out for the kunai.

As his hand covered hers in an effort to take the blade from her, something came flying from Sasuke's right. Hinata's other hand flew to cover his with hers, converting the simple gesture to a sort of hand holding.

Sasuke was completely taken aback. For Hinata to act this way was unheard of. "Um, Hinata-" he started. The moment she heard his voice, Hinata squeaked and withdrew her hands, leaving the kunai in Sasuke's.

"I-I'm sorry." Turning, she fled down the hallway.

Sasuke watched her go. When her figure disappeared, he glanced down at his hand. He could still feel her touch upon his hand. Smirking slightly, he shook his head. There was no way he could have fallen for Hinata Hyuuga.

And yet that night he found himself dreaming of her, her hand upon his, forever in an embrace.

AN: Yeah, so I hope you liked it. I wasn't quite sure how to wrap it up, so I apologize if it leaves something to be desired. Anyway, please review!
