It is too much. One minute her heart is breaking, thinking she can never be with him, thinking he hates her, the next he's apologising and telling her that he loves her. It's too much and she can't breathe.

She cries; she was always an emotional girl but even this is beyond her to express. Her tears come out accompanied by shuddering sobs. Her emotions churn; love, fear, anxiety, joy, hurt and elation mix together inside her. It's overwhelming and she can't cry all of it out. Her tears are choking her and she can't breathe. She can't stop it, can't stop her crying, can't hold back her broken sobs. As much as she wants to it to, it just won't stop.

And then he takes her face in his hand, gently, and wipes away her tears. She looks at him and thinks this can't be real; it can't, not if you told her it was so a thousand times.

But then he places his lips against hers and kisses her.

And just like that all the hurt inside her melts away. If it's a dream then it's a good one. He smiles and she smiles back. The crying stops, the pain subsides.

She can breathe again.
