Takashi Morinozuka is in trouble.
Though he possesses it all - youth, wealth, looks - alas, he's in love.
Poor Takashi.
Actually he's infatuated, but he hasn't learned the difference yet. While what he feels burns real and true, he's never been on a date, let alone had a girlfriend. No one's ever interested him in that way.
Until now.
Takashi first noticed her after a morning sparring session. Long, lush hair and flashing, sultry dark eyes caught his attention. Of course, her shapely figure, clad in modest office wear, was pretty admirable as well. Ever since, he lingers quietly outside the dojo after practice, hoping for a glimpse of his dream woman.
That's right, folks! The object of Takashi's affections is no mere girl, but a woman.
Ironically, she's a host, too. He spies her on Sunday mornings after her shift, departing a local club that caters to businessmen. This thrills him because obviously it means they have a connection.
It takes several weeks to gather his courage, but today he's going to talk to her. Although he's an imposing 188 cm and the nation's reigning Kendo champion, he's actually quite shy. He waits patiently on the sidewalk, watching for his love to appear.
What arrives instead is Tamaki in his limo, horns blaring. The Host King beckons. The club is going on a field trip to Haruhi's house!
Takashi silently brushes aside his annoyance. Well, what's one more week? Love is worth the wait, right?
Despite being thwarted from the day's goal, he ends up enjoying his morning. Haruhi's house is tiny, yet it's fun seeing how commoners live. Kyouya's sarcastic comments make him laugh, on the inside at least. Tamaki and the twins' antics are like watching live-action anime. And he always loves hanging with Hunny.
Still his mind continually drifts back to her... He imagines finally talking to his dream woman, what she would say, looking up at him with those bedroom eyes, perhaps even holding his hand…
"Yay! We're going to a commoners' supermarket! This is going to fun!" declares Hunny, interrupting his thoughts. Takashi snaps out of his reverie. He slips on his shoes, wordlessly following the twins and his cousin out the door.
"Commoners' supermarket! Commoners' supermarket!" chant the twins, skipping down the narrow corridor.
Then suddenly, his love appears, as though lifted by ethereal light to the apartment's landing. There's no mistaking the auburn hair, those honeyed eyes, the luscious curves, moist lips meant for kissing…
Finally, this is his chance!
Takashi opens his mouth… and nothing comes out. Not surprising, since he barely uses his voice. As expected, the woman brushes past. She doesn't even acknowledge his presence. Stunned, he grips the railing. Dreams are dashed, his big moment irretrievably lost. He hangs his head in shame.
"Whoa, check it out!" says one of the twins. "That person we passed was Haruhi's father."
WHAAAAT?
Burning scarlet from neck to ears, his world crashes around him.
Takashi Morinozuka is in trouble.
Poor Takashi.
