GASP, this isn't a slash story, my G.., the eye infection must have damaged something. No serious I haven't seen the final episode of season 6 but I do know I don't like it…..Sarah and Grissom……..eeeepss! anyhow this makes it a little more bearable, I hope. Reviews are most welcome!

Title: A new beginning
I'm falling into darkness when I see that your with her.
I'm fading away when I see you smile at her.
I die a little every time when I look into your eyes, and see the love you feel for her.
Damn , you love her so much! For so long you tried to deny it, pretended that you didn't…..but you are a human being. And humans in love, well they have the tendency to want to be loved back.
I'd waited for so long to gather the courage to tell you what I felt for you, but every time something happened that ruined my chance to talk to you. And now….now it's to late. I pretend to be happy for the two of you when you announce your relation, but inside I'm crying. 'why o why couldn't that have been me?'
When they kiss I turn my face away, unable to keep the tears forming in my eyes, landing on a face which shows the same emotions I have. Our eyes lock, a understanding is formed…..a spark is ignited. We both realise that's time for us to move on. Finding the courage we both take a step towards each other. The answer to the question to 'go grab a coffee' will mean the definite ending of my love for him and a possible beginning for a new love. For a strange reason, that I'm not yet ready to examine it's not difficult to make my choice to give a answer.
The 'Yes, thank you' slips easy out of my mouth.
Together we leave the party, that had started, only stopping when Grissom calls out towards us:
"Nick, Sofia aren't you staying?"
Turning my head I look at Nick, who gives me a small smile letting me the honour of replying.
Studying the happy faces of Grissom and Sara I answer softly: "No, Grissom. But don't stop the party on our account. Nick and I are just moving forwards together now." And with those words I take the hand that Nick's offering and we walk out of the door leaving the old behind and opening a entirely new one.
