"Before you were conceived I wanted you, Before you were born I loved you, Before you were here an hour I would die for you, This is the miracle of Mother's Love." ~ Maureen Hawkins

She gave birth to her daughter in a cabin in the middle of the woods during an immense snowstorm. It was a rough start, but that wasn't even the beginning. Bianca Montgomery had been brutally raped. Her child had been conceived during a violent and unspeakable act. But to Bianca, the child she carried was living proof that blessings and miracles can emerge from the greatest and most gut-wrenching trials in the human experience. The moment she discovered her pregnancy, she knew it was meant to be. Her baby girl was meant to be born and she vowed to love and cherish her daughter.

The minute that Babe placed the newborn in Bianca's arms, her joy was unbounding. She was so blessed to have such a precious miracle in a tiny and beautiful baby girl. She sang to her sweet Miranda and told her how much she adored her. Miranda gazed back at her mother with her infant eyes and with each and every precious moment, Bianca loved her baby even more.

"I waited so long for you, Miranda," Bianca said to her daughter. "Mommy loves you sooo much."

She cuddled her baby and fell asleep, holding the newborn in her arms...

When Bianca awoke again, she was in the hospital. She had no clue how much time had passed and her greatest concern was "Where is Miranda?" Bianca felt great anxiety until her sister Kendall walked in and stood at her bedside.

"Where is my baby? I want Miranda," Bianca said to Kendall.

Very gently, with the utmost care, Kendall tried to explain to Bianca what had happened. "Babe had her baby, too... and a helicopter came to take you and Babe and the little ones to the hospital."

"Babe had her baby, too? Tell me, Kendall, does Miranda have a little girlfriend or a boyfriend?"

"She had a girl. Babe and her baby are just fine."

"Where... Where is Miranda? I want to see my little girl," Bianca insisted. "Please take me to her!"

"Bianca, I can't. I am so sorry. Miranda is gone."

"What?! What do you mean she's gone?!"

"She's with Grandma Mona now."

Bianca shook her head furiously. "Noooo Nooooooo NOOOOO! Don't tell me that! Miranda! Miranda!"

Bianca was screaming so loudly that everyone in the hallway, including her mother could hear her cries of agony. Only Kendall had the nerve to break the news to her. All the others had backed out.

"Mirandaaaaaaaaaaa!" Bianca cried out.

"Bianca ~ honey, I am so sorry. She's gone."

In that moment of Bianca's greatest agony, all of her hopes and dreams for her daughter were crushed under the weight of a thousand tears. GONE! Her precious and perfect baby girl was gone. Everything she went through... the brutal rape, the difficult pregnancy, and the frightening birth in a cabin... ALL of it only supplied her with a few moments of blessed happiness. She had held and cuddled little Miranda. She had sang a lullaby to her baby girl. She wouldn't have missed those few precious minutes for the world... and despite the cold, hard truth, no one could EVER take those moments away.
