She makes you feel a little sore. Not so much physically, as mentally. Emotionally.

You cringe a little. Hyugas are not supposed to be ruled by their emotions. At least, not emotions like this.

It kind of hit you all of a sudden, like one of her unexpected bombs. Out of nowhere one day, you just start feeling that itch, that sore.

Of course, you've always cared. But this is different. This kind of caring has seeped down into your blood vessels. Sometimes they threaten to burst under the weight of it. But often it leaves you in this perpetual state of aching.

She drifts by you and it's a sharp pain that finds you. She grips your shoulder and the ache is soothed.

You don't know how much longer you can deal with this overbearing soreness.

On Monday morning you stop by her house and decide to say something.

She opens the door and your mouth dries up. Stupid.

"Good morning," you manage to choke out.

But considering the lengthy time you have known each other, she has become fairly adept at detecting what you're feeling.

So instead of returning the greeting, she merely raises her eyebrows and studies you. You're sort of proud of her about that—her observing skills have become a lot better in the last few years. It's something you partly credit to your friendship with her.

"What's wrong?" she asks.

She has not even invited you in. Typical. Once she latches on to something she can be very one-track minded.

You lean against the doorway, enjoying your height.

"I think I'm a little in love with you," you say, slightly dazed.

She stares up at you, and you wonder how she will respond.

But all she does is nod her head thoughtfully, and says, "Okay."

"Okay," you respond.

You glance down at her eyes and decipher that she needs time to process.

You say "Okay," again and turn around, intending to go meet Lee in town for a mid-morning breakfast.

As you walk away, you can instinctively feel her eyes on the back of your head. Your soreness twinges a little.
