E/O Drabble Challenge: long
Spoilers/Notes: No spoilers, no timeline. Just a couple of brother on a hunt, watch out for that ghoul, Sam! It's okay, Dean to the rescue!
Interesting note: I handwrote this drabble because I was watching Top Gun on my computer. That was an interesting experience, counting my words and crossing things out and stuff. You should try it.

Teamwork
Dean spun around quickly, shotgun ready, eyes peeled for the ghoul. Sam moved out of his cover, trying to draw it out.
It worked.
Before Dean's shout, "Get down!" could reach Sam's ears, the ghoul slammed into him. Sam's long legs crumpled and he dropped, gasping for air.
Dean's instincts took over and the shot hit the ghoul square between the eyes. As it went down, he threw the gun, racing to Sam's side, panic rising.
"You okay?" Green eyes scanned for injury as Sam nodded, head still down. "You sure?"
Sam finally looked up, and eyes met. Relieved, Dean finally breathed out.
