Why Me?

A Ponyboy Love Story.

Love. Some girls believe love is diamonds, and a good Make-Out session. Some think it is all about the romance, and feeling. Love to me is caring about the person you're with, trusting them, having a good time with them, and knowing you want to spend the rest of your life with them. I have never felt this way before, but now I don't want to loose it, but lets start from the beginning.

My name is Samantha Brooke Mills. My friends call me Sam, and sometimes Sammi. I'm fourteen years old. My straight chocolate brown hair stops right above my shoulder blades. I have bright green eyes. My best friend is always saying how much he hates green eyes, but fell in love with mine in a second. I'm 5'5", and 140lbs. I'm thin, and healthy. Track helps. I'm considered a greaser girl, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

My Best Friend. Ponyboy Michael Curtis. He's the greatest friend a girl could have. I've known him since I was seven, and our mothers were best friends. Yes, the Green Eye hater. Well, he doesn't hate me. Pony and I have been best friends for a long time now. I can talk to him about anything. We share a love for reading, and movies. We also share a love for track. We're both on the team. I don't think I've ever felt so comfortable with anyone in my whole life.

I've lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma my whole life. My parents have, also. I absolutely love living here. I would hate to wake up anywhere else. My parents are basically the "Perfect happy family parents", or at least they try. I also have a little sister. Kelly Robin Mills. She's nine. We're really close.

I have yet to mention my crush. Sodapop Patrick Curtis. I went out with him once. I was 13, and he was 15. It only lasted three weeks, but I have major feeling for him still.

Why Me?

A Ponyboy Curtis Love Story.

"Hurry up, Sam. We're gonna be late for the track meet!" I heard Pony calling me from his room. I exited the bathroom in my track uniform and my hair up in a ponytail.

"Calm down, Curtis. I'm ready!" I said with a smile. He smiled too.

"Darry, Soda…Me and Sammi will be back in about two hours. Bye!" Pony yelled before we exited the house. I sighed.

"You still like Soda, don't you?" Ponyboy asked.

"Yeah."

"Sam, I don't understand that. You two broke up months ago."

"So? I still have feelings for him."

"You're like his little sister, Sammi."

"Pony, I've heard it all before. He liked an old, more mature, prettier girl."

"No he didn't."

"Then explain why the next day he was going out with Amy Jennings."

"Fine, but that doesn't mean he didn't have feelings for you."

"Sure…"

"No. Sam. A lot of guys really like you. Soda was just the lucky guy who got you."

"Pony, who likes me besides that nerd in science?" I asked amused. He stopped walking, so I stopped also.

"I do." He answered honestly. I stared at him for a long time before realizing he was being completely serious with me.

"Oh."

"Yeah. I need to know, Sam. I can't stand it. I've liked you for two years now. Do you like me back?"

"Um…"

"Honestly, Sam."

"Honestly, Pony. I see you as my older brother, and nothing else. You're my best friend."

He looked away, "I understand. Come on. Couch Wales will flip if we're late again."

I nodded, and followed slowly behind. Great. My best friend likes me, and I'm in love with his big brother?

"But, I hope you know that doesn't change my feelings for you." Pony told me, and jogged towards the rest of the kids in the track group.

(Quite short. I just want to know what people think. So, review!)
