If I lost you, a Yuffentine.
This, I think, is my first try of Vincent's POV. So, please tell me if you think it's bad. I really do need the guidance. And also, let me know if he's OOC. Thanks, and on with the show!
If I Lost You…
She turns her catlike grey eyes on me and I just look at her.
"Yes?" I ask, unsure of what else to say.
"I wonder" She pauses, turning to look at the road again. ", If people see the world the way I do. Like… I dunno.
I looks at her, trying to grasp what she means.
"But I guess not, huh?" She continues, laughing her melodic little laugh. ", Because if they did, I wouldn't have you to myself, would I?" And she doesn't stop there, not even to breathe. But that's alright, because I love her voice. "My father used to say that I had a very abstract vision of the world, and now I think I can take it as a compliment, maybe… 'Cause not everyone thinks you're beautiful, like I do."
"Hm?"
"They all think you're scary… Cryptic, even… But I think you're fascinating." She smiles, but doesn't turn to look at me, because someone in front of her is going rather slow, and she doesn't like it.
"Speed up, you fricken snail! My vampire can drive faster then you!" She yells, and sticks her tongue out.
"No offense, dear." She says, as an after thought. And she knows that I don't really care. But she doesn't like bridges, and so she is irritable because we happen to be driving over a rather old, unsteady one. So I try not to laugh at her, and she continues.
I think you're fascinating," She says again. Probably because you scare the bejesus out of everyone else." And she looks at me, and smiles, because she sees that I'm smiling because my eyes are crinkled at the corners. She's learned little things like that.
"I think you're the same." She says, a serious note in her tone. But what does she mean? She cuts her eyes to me, and the back to the road. "Really. You see things differently… And even… a different different than me… It's like your special eyes strip the candy coating off of the world and you see it how it really is. And I'm not sure if I like that or not."
I open my mouth to ask her what she means, but I close it because she is already answering me.
"It… The way you see the world… It makes your heart heavy… That's why I don't like it. But why I do like it is because the way the world has sort of beat on you… It makes you see the real thing… I wish I could be like that, sometimes…"
"Hmm…"
"What?"
"I think you're fine just the way you are."
And her eyes widen in shock. But not because of what I said, but because the bridge under us is trembling, and she can feel it. She turns to me, eyes wide with terror and tears streaming down her cheeks, but she doesn't say a word.
And she puts her hand down on the console between us. I weave my gauntlet with her fingers just as the bridge gives way. And she smiles softly. Because she doesn't want her last moments to be frowning.
And that's when I lost her.
No one can make me cry, make me laugh
Make me smile, or drive me mad
Like she does
It's like a curse, that is the cure
Better or worse, one thing's for sure
It's real love
And I don't know what I'd do
If I lost you…
What'd you think? Reviews get…. Hmmmmm… A tiny Cait Sith…For however long you can stand him.
