My first pure Wings of Fire story, oof...here we go. Hope there's no inconsistencies because I just finished books 1-5 a few months ago and I got them from a library, so I don't remember EVERYTHING. The prologue takes place right in the middle of the war- about ten years in. After that it'll jump to the end events of the first book in the first series. So letsa go!

~Alluvium~

Alluvium rushed through the thick, dense rainforest overgrowth, her talons aching. I must see him tonight, they can't know… Swiftly making her way through the thick vines, she'd made it. Our meeting place. Her wings were folded neatly on her back, looking somewhat transparent in the moonlight. Please tell me he had the heart to come! A slim RainWing came trodding into the clearing. His scales were a regular blue, which Alluvium had learned that it meant he was calm. How can he be calm at a time like this?!

"Apricot! This is no time to be calm!" Alluvium growled, trying to restrain the anger in her voice. His scales shifted to a dark green.

"W-Why? Is something happening?" Apricot whimpered. I can't hold it against him. I didn't know until it happened today.

Alluvium sighed. "Well, Apricot…we have eggs." She gently outstretched her left wing to reveal a small satchel strapped firmly underneath her wing fold. In three moons, how did this happen? "They're in here." She set the eggs out on the ground in front of Apricot.

Apricot's scales shifted into a purplish orange. "I-I don't understand…" He whispered. I don't either. But it happened. "What'll we do?" Alluvium closed her eyes. I hate having to suggest this, but…

"There's two eggs. One can stay with me and the other can stay with you." Alluvium proposed, with a heavy heart. This hurts so much...why did we have to come from different tribes? Apricot's purplish orange scales weren't orange anymore. They were a pure orange. This might not end well.

"What? But then they'd be growing up without each other and without us! Alluvium, how could you suggest that?" Apricot protested. Believe me, I've thought of other ideas…

Alluvium shook her head and sighed. "I know, Apricot." She murmured, starting to choke up. "But the only other way is for you to live with me or me to live with you." Apricot looked down at his talons, his scales a dark gray. I know, Apricot. I feel the same way. "And I know that you wouldn't be able to get used to fighting each day, even if they accept you. I don't want to see you get hurt."

"But I don't want you to be unhappy." Apricot murmured. Alluvium lightly nudged one of the eggs over to him. "What? Why're you-"

"Please, Apricot. Take this one." Alluvium begged the RainWing, hoping that he'd listen to her. Please, Apricot. Please. "We'll always be with each other in spirit." Apricot took a deep breath and sighed, his scales slowly turning a calming blue. He picked up the egg, holding it in his talons.

Apricot turned away from Alluvium. "I'll take this egg, then." He cast Alluvium one last side glance before flying away into the rainforest. His scales were a rosy crimson. "I love you, Alluvium. Never forget that." He took off into the rainforest, leaving Alluvium behind with the other egg. Our other dragonet. The one that I must raise. She sunk her talons into the ground. If her son or daughter was raised in the Mud Kingdom, then that means they'd have to fight. My precious dragonet, how could I have ever thought of raising you here? You could die at the talons of an IceWing! Alluvium pushed her silent panic away; for now. She had to get back to the Mud Kingdom before dawn.

"Oh, Apricot. I'm sorry for failing our dragonet…" Alluvium whispered hollowly, lifting herself of the ground with the egg in her hands. Apricot, I should've stayed with you…one of our children wouldn't have to live like this… Soon the MudWing was back on her way to her village, the one she'd escaped from to meet Apricot. Me and Apricot can't meet anymore. Not with our new responsibilities. She landed nearby the nursery, careful not to wake anyone.

"Alluvium? Where've you been?" A small whisper like voice murmured. Alluvium turned to see the Bigwings of her group, Sludge. He looked down at the egg in Alluvium's talons. "Y-You...kept the eggs, didn't you?" Sighing, Alluvium nodded in defeat. There's no hiding it from him any longer. I had eggs with a RainWing.

"Apricot has the other. It'd be best if...we both have one dragonet each." Alluvium whispered. "Sludge, this is a MudWing-RainWing hybrid. How will the tribe react? How will this dragonet survive the battles ahead?" Sludge looked down at his talons. You don't know either.

He sighed. "We'll do our best to raise her, Alluvium. Me, Bronze, Ercu and Sepia will help you figure this out. We're sibs, after all."

~Apricot~

Apricot flew down to the RainWing nursery, where all the RainWing's eggs were kept; even the queen's. The egg Alluvium had given him was a mixture of both calming blue and earthy brown. This egg might not make it in here. RainWings don't really like things that they're not used to… Apricot took the egg back into his talons and flew for one of the many canopies. Once he touched the ground, he let out a suppressed sigh of relief. Maybe I can hide the egg here until tomorrow?

"Hey, Apricot. Watcha doing up this late?" Apricot turned to see Artichoke, a fellow RainWing in his tribe. An annoying one, to boot. Her scales were a mixture of crimson and yellow. Can't you leave me alone? Artichoke looked down at Apricot's egg. "Ew, what kind of egg is that? It's so..ugly!" She pointed at Apricot's dragonet egg, which she was unaware of a MudWing-RainWing dragonet being inside.

Apricot glared at her, his RainWing scales quickly turning a bright red. "My dragonet, thank you very much. Now go away." Artichoke raised an eyebrow.

"That can't be your egg, silly! RainWing eggs are blue, and that's brownish blue. And only female dragons can have eggs, unless I'm very much mistaken." Artichoke reminded him. Her green eyes flashed in fear. "Wait, did you steal an egg?" Apricot shook his head.

"Artichoke, this is my dragonet. It may be different from the other RainWings, but it's a dragon nothenless." Apricot growled, irritation flickering through his gaze.

Artichoke tilted her head. "But how? Well, I mean, I can see how but how would it be different? I mean, it's just an ugly egg, right? Right…?" Would she even know what a MudWing is? Probably not.

Apricot sighed. "Let's just say that this dragonet isn't fully RainWing, and you'll get what I mean when it hatches." He held the egg closer to his chest, protectively guarding it. "And no dragon shall harm them while I'm around." Artichoke looked down at the egg. She turned away from Apricot, her scales turning a dark gray.

"Apricot, just...don't expect that dragonet's life to be like ours." Artichoke muttered. Her tail swished gently along the leafy canopy. "I'll try my best to help you, but...not all of the RainWing's will be pleased with you for having an egg with an outsider."
