The Ballad of Lily Evans

By SparklingEyesWithACrazyMind

She sat there, waiting for...for what?

Was it for love to come along and find her?

Was it for him to find out that he loved her?

Was it for the world to apologize to her for all it had done to hurt her?

She sat there in the dark

With the rain pelting down

The wind blowing harshly

And the silent lightning flashing

She wondered what had happened

Was it him?

Was it her?

Who had made her hurt so much?

It was late, and she hadn't come back

He went out to find her

Determined to find her

Desperate to find her

And find her he did

Sitting alone by the banks of the lake

Soaked to the bone by the ice cold rain

With her broom by her side

She knew he was there,

But she took no notice, and continued to stare at the horizon

He wanted to talk, to ask her what

Had made her hurt so much

But he couldn't find

The right word at the time

To ask her what the trouble was

So he sat down beside her, and looked out at the rain

They sat there for hours

Chilled to the bone

Huddled together

Thinking

Then the rain stopped,

The sun started rising

And she turned to him

And smiled

It was a sad smile,

But a smile none-the-less

And he took it to heart

And smiled in return

Suddenly,

She gave him a kiss

He was shocked

And sat there stupefied

Then she broke away

Got up, and jumped on her broom

And she flew away into the sunrise

Leaving him speechless behind her.
