February 2009

Gregory House M.D. has died at the age of 50. The cause of death is brain damage brought on from a seizure, from the bus crash that happened last week in Princetion-Plainsboro area of New Jersey.

House was taken to Princetion-Plainsboro teaching hospital. However, at that time House did not show any signs short of brain damage apart from a confusion and memory loss. The seizure was brought on by sending electric shocks into his brain. He was awake right up until the seizure happened.

The crash also claimed nine more life's excluding Houses.

The decision was then made to put him on life support until he was stable. But later tests showed he was brain dead and he was taken of life support 8:50 am EML on the 11th June 2009; ironically his birthday. His friends and family were at his bedside. The hospital was also where he worked as the head of department of Diagnostic Medicine.

His boss and friend Dr Lisa Cuddy M.D. had this to say about House "House was a maverick medical genius and will be greatly missed here. However, the paper he work he made me do will not. (Laughs) House also has used unorthodox diagnostic approaches and has more than a dozen legal cassias against him each year. Nevertheless, a couple of people will miss him. But most of the hospital staff will be glad he has gone"

In addition, Dr James Wilson had this to say as well "House died trying to save my girlfriend and put his life on the line more than once during this his final case. All, can say is House 'Everybody lies' and your time has come"

This is not the first time House's life had been in danger. Just last year, House was in a two-day coma due to him being shot once in the neck and upper left thigh in his office. The gunman was not caught and the case is still is open.

Ten years ago Hosue was in hospital for over a month due to an infection in his leg in which doctors failed to spot. Therefore, House done is own diagnosis on himself to find the problem three days later after he has all ready been admitted to Princetion-Plainsboro teaching hospital and his doctor was Dr Lisa Cuddy M.D.

However, due to that time in hospital House had to walk with a cane and take dangerous amount of Vicodin, a prescription painkiller.

One of most famous cases is doing a live autopsy on a six year old to find a blood colt because it does not show angiography. This involved calling her body temperature down to 21oC and that tempter makes a person clinically dead. Then they removed 2-3 litters of blood and then pumped the blood back into the body. But the blood removal and the body temperature could only be held for 60 sec or less. Or the girl could face permanent brain damage. The whole thing was a complete success and she is now living a normal life.

House lead a good life and will be sadly missed throughout the medical world. The hospital lawyer will miss him more than anyone, as he loses most of his income now that house is dead.

May he rest in peace
