Moving Apart
They had always been the perfect two. Nathan and Haley, one name could not be heard without the other. They had the dream relationship everyone craved for, the one where there were no misunderstandings, nor did anyone have a problem with them.
She was perfect in studies, often called 'Tutor Girl' while he was the perfect basketball player, the one with all the trophies and scholarships. Sure, they were envied, but they were admired as well.
The best thing that came out of this relationship was that both supported each other, one in studies, the other in sports, helping each other and themselves, reach the top.
Be it parties or studies, they always went together, they weren't inseperable but they damn well were the type of couple everyone wanted to be. Not to stuck-up, nor too far apart.
The cracks started appearing at the end of high school. No one noticed except for their closest friends. To the others, they still were who others wanted to be. But when the break up came, it came as a shock to everyone but their friends.
As time went by, people made stories about whether Nathan cheated on Haley or whether it was because Haley wasn't giving Nathan some 'action'. Batches came and went but their story was repeated again and again and somewhere down the line, the whole story changed.
But one thing never changed, Nathan and Haley remained the best of friends, moving apart was a mutual decision because of their differences. She wanted Harvard while he wanted Basketball. But as time went on, their story faded but their friendship never did.
