A golden, glimmering green tail stood out from her waist to where her feet were supposed to be, and Nagisa had to bite his lip to keep from squealing or asking questions as he watched Gou move as easily through the water as if she belonged there.

"You know if you stand there any longer admiring me, I could just swim far away." Gou suggested, looking concerned.

"Why isn't Rin like this too?" Nagisa couldn't help but ask her.

"It came from Mom." Gou sighed, "It passes through the daughters, not the sons." She admitted as she flicked her tail and vanished underwater for a second.

Just watching her emerge, water dripping down her scales, made his mouth dry and managed to prove to him that that was one of the prettiest sights that he'd ever seen.

"Gou, you're so pretty." Nagisa murmured, eyes tracing down her scales and watching sunlight glimmering on any and all water droplets on her scales.

"Don't sound so surprised." Gou scolded though Nagisa was sure that it was awe in his voice and not surprise, "Besides, I should be pretty in your eyes even without my tail."
"Of course, you are." Nagisa murmured, "My girlfriend's always been pretty even when we were little." Nagisa shrugged, but he couldn't help smiling at her.

"I'd hope that you'd think so, and that you wouldn't think that I'm some beast that you managed to capture or date." Gou grumbled.

"That would make you, Beauty and me, The Beast." Nagisa told her with a happy, little grin of a gentle smile, "You're so beautiful with or without the tail."

"You as The Beast wouldn't scare a soul." Gou infirmed him.

"It wasn't a horror movie, Gou." Nagisa told her with a bright smile.

"It would be a comedy with you as The Beast." She shook her head.

"Are you sure?" He asked with glittering ruby red eyes.

"Yeah, the old ladies would switch from cooing at you and how cute you are to laughing at the silly stuff you'd do." Gou told him stubbornly, not minding at all what images appeared in her mind.

"Only old ladies would watch me and think that I'm cute and silly?" Nagisa asked her with a smile, not upset at all.

"Until you're human again, and you take off your shirt." She told him, point blank, "Didn't you hear about that Twilight movie and how all of the young girls seemed to flock to it?"

"Of course, I did." Nagisa seemed gleeful, "Am I as hot as Jacob Black?"
"Don't tell me you watched it or them." Gou shuddered as she shot him a glare.

"Being a fan of Twilight," Nagisa retorted, "doesn't mean that I have to be a girl."

"That could be well and true if you weren't likely the only guy in the theater." She retorted.

"There were two others." Nagisa confessed as Gou shook her head in disbelief.

"Did they come alone like you did or with their wives or girlfriends?" She asked, stubbornly.

"How was I supposed to know? I wasn't watching them." Nagisa smiled as he moved closer to the water's edge, "Do you want to come out and cuddle? Being on land can be lonely when my girlfriend is in the sea."

She rolled her eyes but left the water anyway to curl up against Nagisa's side and relax; she was just stubborn enough that she'd never let you know how much she loved cuddling with her boyfriend.
