As soon as Sam heard the shots ring out he panicked going around the room realizing that his girlfriend was not in the room with them. He started losing it wanting to go after her, needing to know if she was okay.
Once everything was said and done and he held her in his arms and knew she was okay he was fine. Until when he went home that night, he had been thinking what would of happened if he didn't make it out of the school. He wouldn't be with his family, he wouldn't be able to ever see Mercedes again. Sam, what are you talking about Mercedes was last year you're with Britt. Stop. He said to himself as he sit in his room looking at facebook. It was all over about the gunshots, no one knew what happened but everyone was talking about it. He seen Mercedes' status.

Mercedes A. Jones wow, just heard the news from Kurt. So glad everyone is safe back home. I miss you all.. I don't know what I would do without any of you. Seen you soon.

He smiles happily knowing that she was thinking about them. Mercedes was the first girl sam ever loved, and for a long time he thought she was going to be the last. He even went as far as picking out a promise ring for her. Sam knew that he needed to let her go to LA he broke his own heart for the happiness of the one he loved. She I talk to her. Maybe she's thinking about me. I don't wanna pressure her.. she didn't even look at me when she was back doing grease maybe she hates me! Evans suck it up. TALK TO HER.

Sam Evans:
Hey Mercedes. It's been awhile! how are you?

Mercedes A. Jones:
Evans! right!? i'm good boo, how are you? I heard about today... :/

Sam Evans:
Scariest day of my life...although it seem to have brought everyone closer a lot of people are really talking now.. getting along better? If that makes any sense.

Mercedes A. Jones:
Makes total sense! I miss you, i'm coming home soon maybe we can get together?

Sam Evans:
wow big LA diva has time for me? ;) i'd love that lets me know I gotta go though. Parents gotta talk to me. Talk later?

Sam went and called his parents they wanted to know he was okay, and that they didn't need to come see him. He made sure that they knew he was safe and it was nothing to worry about. Sam laid in bed that night thinking about Mercedes, the plans they made together, how he promised to marry her after she won her first Grammy which she predicted would be in 2 years. How they wanted to have two kids, and they wanted to travel to Disney with his little brother and sister when she came back from LA this summer. Plans which he's sure she long forgot... but he kept near to his heart. She was the one Sam wanted to be with, he pushed himself for so long to move on even he was starting to believe he loved Brittney when deep down, Mercedes Jones was the only one for him.
