BGM: "Across the Rainbow Bridge" by Ayreon.

Our Rainbow Bridge

She stomped across the asphalt, a scowling princess in fluttery pink. Violet eyes glared at the world, framed by black bangs and little-girl pigtails, daring the other children to say one word.

She danced through the room, face screwed up in illicit joy as synthesized guitar and screeching voices shake her new playroom. Soundproofing and discreet electricians for the win, the parentals lose!

She stared helplessly into the abyss, all coruscating green and effervescent light. This moment would never end.

She ran through the street, dodging and ducking away from death-rays, missiles, spells, and whatever-the-hell-else their newest enemy could come up with. Far above, her closest friend fights for a life already lost.

She smiled down at him, cheeks colored red in the sunrise. He smiles back, standing on tiptoe to look into her eyes.

She wept helplessly, alone in her familiar girlhood room. After that day, black curtains and purple carpeting are ripped away.

She was radiant in purest virginal white, gliding ever so slowly and gracefully to the chupah. He smiled shyly, amazed that this woman, the Manson heiress, would really give up all her power and influence to be with him.

She rushed to the bathroom, regretting that pasta marinara she'd had for dinner. A small high voice shrieks in alarm and worry for Mommy.

She preached to the gathered crowd, victory lighting her face as nothing else did these days. Behind her, her husband fidgets, wondering why she even bothered with the charade.

She smiled sadly across her grand GM-oak desk, eyes dull with boredom. He just looked at her, signed the paper and left without a word.

She cursed the so-called leaders for fools and idiots. Were they seriously promoting war with a world of immortals?

She screamed orders from the fortress that is her home, desperately pulling into herself for that last bit of strength, just enough to go back and stop the madness. Outside, darkness reigns, but only dust remains within.

She wakes to the sound of an alarm, and flails to turn it off. Picking herself up off the floor, she notices a note written in her handwriting, a note she would never have written.

She bursts into his room and asks her so-called best friends what kind of prank they were trying to pull. He explains about his parents' experiment, and that day, Danny Fenton breathes his last.

She pulls the note from her pocket, blinking hard and swallowing salt. Last and greatest of its warnings: Do not leave him.

No matter how many times he is defeated, no matter who else draws his eye, no matter how much he pulls away from humanity, away from you, stay with him. For all your days, until death snatches you from his grieving grasp, you will stay.

You have been his murderer. This is our atonement.

A/N: I don't even know. It just mutated. As always, please read and review.
