Ok first I'm going to write this prelude, this preface, this prologue, this prequel in hopes of explaining some of what will be happening…
The year is 2113 and the galaxy has been at peace for 10 years since the saving of Galaxia and the return of free will, choice, and hope to all humanity. Each of the Senshi had taken a portion of the Earth's population and returned to their own planets to pick up the pieces of their culture from millennia ago. The people volunteered based on the Senshi's own rules of governance and personalities. Also, each of the Senshi chose a Steward to monitor the planet's condition and become their husbands. I'll pick up the story from here.
Makoto jerked awake at the sound of her son screaming in terror. Rushing to his room next door, decorated in a soothing oak leaf motif, she brandished a staff she always kept next to her bed and scanned the room for the danger. Not seeing anything obvious, she looked down to see her son sobbing softly and apologizing. Going to him, she sat on the bed and gathered him within her arms and began rocking and humming an old lullaby she had learned on Earth.
Though she could cook, clean, and run a planet's government, being a mother had not come as easily for Makoto as everyone had thought it would. That's not to say she wasn't a good mother to her son, but everyone had been surprised when there was only one. Hotaru had 8, and Setsuna 9, children, but the most mothering of the Senshi had only managed one child in the decade they'd been at peace so far. Did this make her a failure?
Laying her now unconscious son down on his brown doona blanket, she trudged wearily back to bed where her husband was just as oblivious as her young son now was. Smiling wearily, she climbed into bed, hardly disturbing a thread of the linens. Still, though she was nearly silent, her husband stirred and reached for her then feel right back asleep with a contented sigh when she had snuggled comfortably into his embrace.
So what do you think of Chapter 1? I'm going to slowly introduce each planet's senshi, guardian, and populations so this will be an extended story with many chapters, approximately this size. I like short bites.
