The sun was shining bright, high in the sky nestled between two clouds, peeking out as if though not wishing to disturb the sight below.
Below lay two lovers, two partners, two friends, two parents. Or were they one? But to call them one would almost be a disservice for both were unique and strong in their own way. Not two halves of a whole, rather two wholes that meshed into one another, sure to be there should the other falter.
One of these lovers looked down at the head laying on their chest, relishing in how simple this moment was. Simple, yet special. How was it that every time she held her in her arms it was a slightly new sensation, yet all the while familiar.
Magic.
She ran her fingers through her brown hair, taking note of the softness of the slight curls. She could not explain why she loved her as much as she did. Could not put into words why her heart swelled, why imagining a future without her by her side was impossible. She remembered the day she ran into her, literally ran into her, in the halls of Hogwarts. The annoyed looked emanating from those brown eyes, eyes that would convey many looks throughout their lives. The little eye roll, the impatience. Amazing how that initial feeling of dislike grew into a love that she could not fathom living without. Funny how now that same eye roll and impatient glance made her heart beat just a little bit faster.
"Fleur, what are you thinking about?"
"You, mon amor. Always you"
These two were never meant to be together. These two irked each other at every turn. But their hearts had long decided whom they were meant for, and all these two could do was follow suit. Enjoy the ride. The kisses. The gentle touches. The arguments. In the end their hearts won out, and even though they might not always admit it, they would not have had it any other way.
