John sighed as he stapled the flimsy paper onto a nearby phone pole. It was an advertisement for a room mate, which John desperately needed. He was running out of mmoney and running out of time to make payments on his apartment. Despite the fact he had a job, he still couldn't pay for the somewhat upscale place. He had to admit that it was mainly his fualt for moving out while still in highschool with hardly any plans for what he was going to do on his own and a job at the local Starbucks. As he was getting ready to head back home, he saw a girl looking at one of the advertisements. She was short, maybe 4' 11" or 5' 2" he couldn't really tell. She had long blonde hair that went a little past inbetween her shoulders and a cigerette in her hand. She pulled one of the little tabs with his phone number and address off of the paper and looked at it before placing it in her pocket and walking off. John blinked as she walked away but smiled a little, at least someone was considering taking up his offer.

A few days later John's phone rang, an unknown number was on the screen.

"Hello?" he answered. A woman's voice was on the other side of the phone, it sounded soft and sweet as it flowed through the speaker and into his ear.

"Uhm yes, I was calling about the advertisement you put up downtown?"

"Oh! So I take it as you're interested in coming and checking the place out?" he asked.

"Yeah, I was just wondering when a convenient time for you would be." she said.

"Uh, well I'm not very busy today, would 3 be alright with you? We could do it on a later date if needed."

"Oh, 3 is perfect!" she replied.

"Great!" he smiled slightly "I just need you name, and I already have your number seeing as you called me heh."

"My name is Vriska, Vriska Serket." she said

"Alright thanks, so I'll see you at 3 Ms. Serket?"

She laughed a little "Yeah, and you can call me Vriska if you'd like."

His smile grew a bit wider "Alright, see you then." He then hung up.

The time seemed to creep by slowly, slower than usual. But as his clock read 3 he heard a soft knock at the door. John seemed to spring out of his chair as he scurried over to the door. When he opened it the girl he had seen a few days ago was standing in the door way. She titled her head up a bit and her deep blue eyes met his lighter ones. He smiled a little "Hi there Vriska, it's nice to meet you." he said politely as he stuck out a hand. She shook it briefly before he welcomed her inside.

"It's nice to meet you too John, and wow, this place is very nice!" she said. He let out a soft chuckle.

"Well thank you, a friend of mine actually did the decorating."

"They did an amazing job!" she replied. He then began to lead her around the apartment, explaining where things were and why he actually needed/wanted a room mate. The two also got know each other a little bit better as well.

"So, what do you think?" he asked.

"I really like the place, and you seem like a pretty nice guy." she said with a smile "I wouldn't mind taking you up on your offer." His smile grew a bit wider.

"Awesome! If you want I can call you tomorrow and we can start setting up a date and time for you to move your stuff over here."

She nodded "Sounds great!" The two then talked for a little longer before Vriska actually left to return home. After she left John sat down on his couch, letting out a content sigh and a small smile remained on his lips.
