"Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world" - Marilyn Monroe

Henry loved his wife, after a fashion. But recent years had proved that Cupid's arrow didn't last forever. Henry knew Millie felt the same, but neither were the type to shirk their duty.

So, being assigned to work with Josie with her looks, charm, and razor-sharp intellect was simultaneously the best, and worst, thing to ever happen to him.

Josie was certainly quite the firecracker; nothing like the usual, staid Men of Letters. Her rapier-like wit would make you swear she had the devil in her, and he wondered if the stuffed shirts knew what they'd let themselves in for.

"Fashion fades, only style remains the same" - Coco Chanel

Dean's quite the Renaissance man, Henry thought. Equally at ease caring for his brother, cooking a marvelous repast, or decapitating some hellish beast.

Not so keen on the research, he thought ruefully. Still, delegation is the sign of a good leader.

Initially enthralled with his grandson's description of meeting Eliot Ness, a shared hero, he was a little confused as Dean went on to expound with even greater enthusiasm on the fashions of the period.

The penny finally dropped on noting the pride with which Dean introduced his 'angel of the Lord'.

It must be a modern expression, Henry decided.
