I don't own Criminal Minds

Enjoy

Morgan was at the park drinking some cola. He was supposed to be at school but for some reason he didn't care and he DIDN'T want to go to the youth center. His stomach churned when he thought of that man, Carl Buford. He never felt so confused and so lost….almost trapped.

An old man with a long grey beard and a pair of glasses slowly walks up to the bench Morgan was sitting on. "Excuse me young man, may I sit here for a moment" he asked politely.

Morgan moved over to give the man room to sit but didn't say a word.

"Not up for school huh" he said.

Morgan shook his head. The man tilted his head and looked at him, "Why?"

Morgan sighed, "Well some bad things have been happening to me. I'm not sure if I can really move on from it."

The old man looked at him for a moment, "Bad things will always happen to us. We can't avoid it. But you can't let it control you forever."

Morgan gave him a cold glare, "You don't know what I have been through."

The man stared at him with a calm expression and then smiled.

"I was a soldier in WWII; I lost some many friends in that war. I had a beautiful wife waiting for me back home. She was everything to me. She was also pregnant with our first child. I begged to be sent home to see my baby. After much begging and pleading, they let me. At the hospital I waited in the waiting room for our child. But a nurse walked up to me, covered in blood. She told me….that my wife died in childbirth and the baby was dead too."

Morgan was shocked, how could anyone be ok after losing their family like that. After all the horror that man faced in war, he had another nightmare to deal with.

"I never remarried, I am still in love with my wife but I did adopt a child. She is the heart outside my body. But she's an adult now and is married. I keep pestering her about wanting to have grandchildren."

They both chuckled. "Let me tell you something kid…our wounds don't go away, they scar us. But it's those scars that allow us to move on from pain and suffering. If we didn't know pain…we wouldn't know happiness would we. Whatever is happening to you, no matter how bad…you still have your family and people who want to see you shine. Don't let some horrible person make you feel that you're nothing."

Morgan thought for a moment and got up. "Where are you going" asked the man.

"School."

"Good…come back here again during school and I'll have to knock some sense into you."

Morgan ran back to school before his next class would start.
