Hermione POV

Monday morning, 11am…Potions class. A daunting challenge to any student, but when you're being taught by one of the most evil ruthless and conniving men on the face of the Earth, nee the Universe!

Now come on Hermione…you're a big girl now- he has taught you for the last three years so you can deal with him for a fourth.

The strange thing was…his eyes.

They were so cold, disturbing, empty and yet so inviting, emotional and warm at the same time.

Hermione Granger! You stop thinking what you are thinking this instant! Honestly, this is the Head of House for Slytherin, a follower of the Dark Lord and an Ex-Slytherin we are talking about here!

But he did have a certain allure…He was so mysterious, so confident, so wild…yet he seemed hollow and broken, like an abandoned child or an unrequited love.

All this…I could sense in his eyes.

Those onyx orbs that were prominent against his pale face.

The eyes the bore into those of any disobedient student or enemy.

The very eyes that I, dare I say, was starting to fall for.

I sat behind my desk and got out my books, the pompous git Draco Malfoy seated beside me. Professor Snape had forbidden Ron and Harry from sitting next to me because (and I quote) 'They always seem to do well when they are next to you, Miss Granger'

Honestly! What does he take me for…a Slytherin? I, unlike his house, have ethics. Although that would explain why Ron was always looking at me out of the corner of his eye…Then again he could be looking at my –Oh Goodness, No!

"Stupid girl" I grumbled to myself.

"For once, I quite agree with you Miss Granger" said Snape, cockily. Striding down the aisle of the classroom towards his desk.

I huffed and frowned at the professor. Did he just smile? Goodness no…This is Snape we're talking about!

"I beg your pardon, Sir?" I said naively.

Snape furrowed his brow and opened his mouth to speak…However Malfoy interrupted him.

"Didn't you hear? He said you are a stupid girl, filthy Mudblood!" he spat, an insolent smirk plastered over his face.

I snapped.

I rose from my seat, turning to face Malfoy –drawing back my trusty right hook as I did so.

The next thing I knew, my knuckles hurt and Draco's nose was streaming crimson.

I spluttered and huffed as I realised what I had done. I'd broken Malfoy's nose…Again!

I grabbed my wand and pointed it as his face. "Episkey" I giggled

Malfoy whimpered as his nose cracked back into place. "What the bloody hell's wrong with you? Why are you laughing?" he squealed

I was still giggling "Déjà vu, I guess!" I could feel the adrenaline pulsing through my veins.

"Scourgify!" I snickered, pointing my wand at his neck and collar to mop up his spilled blood.

"You're bonkers, Granger! Just you wait…My father will hear about this!" screamed Draco as he barged past me and out of the class.

I turned to face Snape, as I did so every non Slytherin student rose and began to applaud. My cheeks flushed as I did a mock bow, a grin stretching from ear to ear.

"Enough!" barked Snape, the whole room falling deathly silent. "I shall see you in detention tonight, Miss Granger. 6pm sharp."

I blushed even more at the thought of spending the night with the most repulsive man I had ever met.

Then I thought deeply and cursed whoever thought to place such a vile personality onto a man with those eyes.

His eyes…
