Sakuya delicately lifted up her mistress's empty tray. Remilia dabbed away some blood from the corners of her mouth. "Sakuya, do go and feed Flandre. She'll be getting hungry."

Sakuya groaned inwardly, but dared not do so out loud. "Yes, ma'am." She walked to the kitchen in silence and prepared Flandre's meal, which was a very unpleasant business. Preparing Remilia's meal was unpleasant as well, seeing as the sisters were vampires, but at least Remilia wasn't insane.

"My sister merely has an unstable personality," Remilia would explain. But Sakuya guessed that was more denial talking.

On the way to the basement with a fresh platter of human flesh, Sakuya ran into Patchouli, the librarian, quite literally. Patchouli squealed and fell backward. Sakuya just managed to keep the human flash from falling off of the platter and onto the innocent librarian. "Watch where you're going," Patchouli scolded.

"My apologies," Sakuya said curtly. "I was distracted," she elaborated.

"What's that you're carrying?" Patchouli asked disgustedly.

"Flandre's lunch," Sakuya answered. "Now, if you'll excuse me." Without waiting for a response, Sakuya bustled off, heading for the basement.

"Wait," Patchouli said, hurrying after her. "Doesn't Remilia normally feed Flandre? What if she eats you?"

"I assume Flandre has been taught not to bite the hand which feeds you," Sakuya said, stepping lightly around the subject of why Remilia was not doing it. Sakuya suspected her mistress was up to something, and she didn't want to give it away so carelessly.

"Hopefully," Patchouli said. She had caught up to Sakuya and was walking beside her. "Be careful what you say. Flandre is very… delicate."

"So I've been told," Sakuya murmured. They had arrived at the door to the basement, which was intricately carved of dark wood. She had never met Flandre. She grasped a silver throwing knife gently, mainly for security, but equally as much for her own protection. She knew what the penalty would be if she killed Remilia's sister, but she wasn't going to allow Flandre, however supposedly innocent, to attack her and win.

"Well, I'm off," Patchouli said hurriedly. She rushed back off to the library in a flurry of pink fabric.

Sakuya opened the door. Stone stairs sloped down into a room lit with orangey light. The walls were covered in reddish-burgundy wallpaper, and the floor was covered in black-and-white tiles chessboard style. Sakuya could swear she heard the soft tinkling of a music box as she crept quietly down the stairs.

"Kagome, kagome," came a child-like voice. Sakuya screamed, noticing a moment too late that she had just been attacked with a spell card. Something hit the floor next to her, the shock of it sending her sprawling, ears ringing, the platter of human flesh skidding out of reach of her hand.

I don't really know much about the Touhou Project, and a good percent of my knowledge of things like the spell cards of certain characters and their personalities comes from the wikia. However, I have played Ten Desires and watched the fan-made anime (Summer Day's Dream, not Fantasy Kaleidoscope). Not everything is canon, but I hope you'll like it anyways. Be sure to review!
