Chiron sat in his wheelchair, watching the scene take place. Annabeth was arguing rather loudly with Percy, who looked sheepish, Clarisse was trying to start a fight with the Stolls (who'd stolen her favorite sword), and the new cabin leaders of Aphrodite and Hephaestus were giving each other the silent treatment. Only the leaders of Dionysus and Apollo weren't arguing in some way.

"This is a war against an entire army of OGRES, Percy! Ogres aren't even supposed to exist! You can't just go off and fight them by yourself, and don't say you'll have Riptide because that's just a stupid sword," Annabeth ranted, her golden ponytail bobbing up and down as she scolded Percy Jackson.

Percy's sharp, sea green eyes glinted with a hint of rebellion. "Annabeth, you know everyone at Camp Half-Blood is so worn out after the Titan War. Only I, Percy Jackson (he flexed his arm muscles, hoping to earn himself a smile), can get rid of this ogre threat." He grinned. "But you're welcome to come with me if you want. I know you're tough, Wise Girl."

Annabeth rolled her eyes and put her hands on her hips, but a tiny smile lit her face. Gosh, she's amazing, Percy thought, remembering all the times they'd fought monsters or hung out together.

"Fine, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth relented. "You and I will go - as long as we bring Grover."

Percy grinned mischievously. "We'll have to tear him away from Juniper," he protested.

"That nymph's too clingy anyways."

"Then it'll be just like old times," Percy answered quickly. The two grinned at each other, when suddenly the front door to the Big House swung open and someone stumbled in.

"Aha!" Clarisse cried triumphantly as a small kid faceplanted on the floor. "He's been listening to our conversation through the door! He's a spy! He's-" She was cut off by a spurt of shock.

"He's Cruz!" marveled Will Solace from the Apollo cabin. "What are you doing here?"

Percy hadn't really talked to Cruz, except for when he was beating him at sword fighting. Cruz was a pretty scrawny kid, with barely any muscle and height. But what he lacked in strength he gained in spirit. Cruz was a go-getter, never-give-up sort of guy. He could also get a little feisty. Thanks to his dip in the Styx, Percy was invincible. But sometimes he forgot that, and more than once he'd been a little scared of Cruz's fast-flying arrows he shot during capture the flag.

"S-sorry," Cruz mumbled, getting to his feet. "I couldn't help but listen..." He met Chiron's eyes, which were full of disappointment.

"Why were you listening to our conversation?" Annabeth asked, her lips twisted in a cross frown. Percy saw Cruz squirm under her gaze; he couldn't blame him for feeling uncomfortable. Whenever Annabeth was mad at Percy, he got a little anxious himself.

Cruz ran a hand through his mop of brown hair nervously. "Well... I know about the ogres. I know that there's a bunch of ogres threatening to destroy Camp Half-Blood."

Annabeth and Percy shared a look.

"But I think I know someone who can help us."

Chaos erupted as demigods shouted and demanded an explanation.

Cruz threw up his hands. "I wasn't finished!"

"Then finish already," Clarisse growled, pointing her electric spear at the small boy.

Annabeth glared at Clarisse. "What she meant to say was, who can help us?"

Cruz hesitated, then continued. "Well, back when I was living in San Diego, there was this girl in my old third or fourth grade class named Sophie. One day she had a huge allergic reaction to something and was whisked off to the hospital. When she came to school the next day, she was talking about ogres and humans with superpowers wearing black cloaks. None of us believed her, of course, but she was convinced that what she'd seen was real. And then one day, she stopped talking about the ogres. Like she forgot about them completely. The next year she was shipped off to high school because she was too smart for elementary school."

Clarisse scrunched her eyebrows. "So... you're saying that this girl who had a crazy brain problem could help us defeat ogres."

It wasn't a question. It was a sarcastic statement.

"Well, yeah, I mean, Sophie was really smart-"

The new Aphrodite leader placed her hand on Cruz's shoulder. "Honey, are you sure you didn't have a crush on this girl? Maybe you're placing your hope in the wrong person-"

Cruz blushed profoundly. "What?! No! I-I didn't have a crush on her. But I'm serious! Sophie could really help us."

Percy thought for a moment. "Do you even know if she still lives in California? Because if she doesn't, then it's on to Plan B."

"I'm not sure," Cruz answered slowly. "But she probably does. I mean, it's worth a shot, right?"

"Yeah," Percy agreed. "Worth a shot."

Annabeth held up her hand for silence. "One problem; California is swarming with monsters. Only a couple demigods could go there at a time. Two at maximum."

"The squirt should stay behind," Clarisse added, gesturing to Cruz. "I'll go with a Hephaestus kid, they're good with gadgets that could come in handy while battling monsters."

"What!" Cruz shouted in surprise. "It was my idea to find Sophie, not yours! I think I should go with Percy."

Annabeth clenched her jaw. "I'm the smartest out of all of you, so I'm going."

Chiron whistled. The talking died down and everyone turned to look at the centaur.

Chiron scratched his neck. "Cruz will go, naturally, since he knows what Sophie looks like, and hopefully where she lives. Annabeth is right, she should go, because she is our smartest demigod. (Oh gods, thought Percy. That'll boost her ego.) And lastly, Percy Jackson will go. I wouldn't dare separate him and Annabeth." Chiron smiled warmly.

Clarisse gritted her teeth. "Fine! Leave all the fun to those losers." She stalked out of the Big House, followed by the leader of the Hephaestus cabin.

"Alright then," Chiron began. "That settles it."

"What about Grover?" Annabeth inquired. "He'd be handy for sniffing out monsters."

Chiron stroked chin thoughtfully. "Grover can go, and that's it. Now, are we finally satisfied?"

The three demigods achieved mutual agreement.

"Yep," Cruz informed. "We're satisfied."

Hey! Thanks for reading the first chapter of my PJO and KOTLC crossover. If you have any questions/comments/corrections, feel free to leave a review!

So, my book starts in Camp Half-Blood. Obviously, ogres are threatening to invade the camp for an unknown reason. An Apollo kid named Cruz remembers a girl named Sophie (yes, Sophie Foster!) who used to talk about ogres. Percy, Annabeth, Grover, and Cruz decide to venture to San Diego, California, in a search for the girl. As the story goes on, the elves from the Lost Cities will join the story! This is a crossover, after all. ;)

Once again, thanks for reading! Have a great day :)
