YOU TELL MAURA
Jane was a simple kind of person. A simple kind of complex person. Complete with monsters hiding her closet. While those may have slowed her down a bit. It never stopped her.
That may have something to do with her girlfriend Maura. Maura was a complex kind of person. A complex simple kind of person. Once you dug past all the facts and info you'd find her. Just her, without all the makeup and over priced clothes.
They were both the kind of people that got what they wanted whether it was through intimidation (in Jane's case), or bribery (in Maura's case). So when they met each other, and the mutual attraction took hold, it wasn't long before they were together.
It was natural. They did all the firsts. From first kisses, to first dates, to moving in with each other. People either accepted they were together, or were left behind.
It was a nice little life. Until it wasn't.
Three shots to the abdomen. A rogue shooter firing rapidly at the BPD. Three shots hit a single target. One pursuer fell. Two shots to the criminal. One criminal fell.
Frost rushed to the fallen murderer. He was already dead.
Jane was on the ground. Her blood slowly exiting her body. Three shots, means three bullets.
All three of the detectives knew this wasn't good. Yet all three stayed silent. Frost called for an ambulance. They said fifteen minutes at best. No one said anything about the worst.
Then Jane was talking, choking out the words around the blood bubbling up, "Tell… you tell… you tell Maura, that… that I was happy, so happy. And that… even when we were fighting… I was still. Tell Maura… that she made me be… better, and she was… she was IT for me, no… no one else, just her. You tell Maura.. I lov….," her words died with her. They knew what she would have said though.
The blood had stopped flowing, because there was no more. Jane's words stopped because she was no more. All these things she wanted to say. To tell Maura.
Jane wouldn't be telling Maura anything.
