A/N: Okay so obviously I don't own Doctor who, but that would be col if I did. So without any further ado I give you my story.
"Alright team put on the suits, we are ready to unload," The voice of Ingrid Demure blared over the loud speaker of the Katarina II.
"But Capt'n what bout the shadows?" asked James Petrarch, the youngest member on board the spaceship.
While James was the youngest he had done the most reading on the planet that is The Library. He knew all about the shadows that kill people and about how a group of archeologists had saved all the people trapped on the planet. However most of the archeologists had not survived against the Vashta Nerada, that's what the shadows were called at least but most people only know them as shadows.
Captain Demure entered the room saying, "James, I've told you. We know what the shadows are this time and we are ready. There is no way that the shadows can get into our suits. The archeologists that came here before had no idea, but we do thanks to them. We will be perfectly fine. Now remember our mission is not to disturb the shadows but to gather information from the books stored there. This means we do not stray away from each other. Are we clear?"
It was understood that Ingrid was a natural born leader as she stepped into her all black tight fitting and hopefully Vashta Nerada proof suit. Even though Ingrid was confident in her speech she wasn't so sure of the suit she was climbing into. Ingrid had always preferred knowledge in the form of books than technology. Technology didn't tug at your heart strings our capture your mind quite like writing does.
"Turn on your mouth pieces so we can communicate," Ingrid commands as she twists and locks her helmet into her uniform.
Lastly she checks over herself making sure that she blends in with the wall behind her. Ingrid assumes it works when Harry chimes in with a whoa.
The suits are designed like chameleon skin so that the wearer can blend in with whatever background is behind them. The only catch is they have to move really, really slowly so the disturbance in the background isn't noticed.
"Test, Eliza, can you hear me?" Ingrid speaks into her microphone.
"Loud and clear Captain," she responds.
"Test two, Harry, can you hear me?"
"Yes Ma'am," he replies back.
"James, do I really look like a ma'am to you?" she asks.
"No Ma'am, I mean no captain, you don't," is his answer.
Beneath her helmet Ingrid pursed her lips before saying, "Very well then. Come along crew, we have a library to recover."
After saying that to her team Ingrid stepped out onto the marbled floor of a magnificent house of books and began to count the shadows.
