The Girl From the Woods

She walked along the path. It was very peaceful. There was no sound except for the rustle of trees and the occasional tweets of birds. All the girl did was walk. She's been walking for ages. How she got here, no one knows. She just keeps walking. The path goes on forever. Her blonde hair is very messy. She hasn't had time to comb it. Her clothes are all torn up. The girl has fallen several times. She's gotten caught by so many branches. For as long as she could remember, she's walked this path. She's had enough. The girl stepped off the path and went her own direction. Little did she know that she just left the safest part of the forest.

The girl walked her own path. She felt free. She was making her own path. It didn't take too long though for the girl to realize how different things were. Instead of being nice and beautiful, this part of the forest was dark and dreary. "Emily" This name sounded familiar to the girl. She didn't know why. "Emily" There it was again. "Abandoned," the voice said. Abandoned? "Weak" The words kept coming. "Your parents didn't want you. Lonely."

"Stop it!" she yelled. "Worthless. Your worthless Emily," the voice spoke. "I said stop it!" The girl ran. The voice still continued to speak as she ran.

"Worthless" "Abandoned"

"Your parents never wanted you" "Mistake"

"Accident"

"You should have never existed" "Unloved!"

The girl continued to run. She ran and ran for as long as she could. The voice kept coming. Finally, the girl could run no more. All of a sudden, she fell.

"Today a corpse was discovered in the forest. The police say she fell off the cliff at the edge of the forest. No one has recognized the girl so far. If you know her, please call this number on the screen or contact the police."

"Such irresponsible parents," said the women. She was watching the news with her husband. It was late at night, and there was nothing else to do. "Yeah they are," said her husband. He took a sip of his beer. "But kids can be a hassle sometimes, That's why we got rid of ours."

"Do you love me?" said a voice behind them. The couple turned around to see the silhouette of a pre-teen girl standing behind them. "I said, do you love me?"

"We don't even know you girl!" said the husband, "How did you even get in here?"

"You don't love me?" the girl said, as she stepped closer, "You don't love me!"

"My god, Henry look at her! She looks so familiar doesn't she?"

"You never loved me did you?!"

"Your right Lauren. You don't think she's-"

"You know what I think. I think you should burn in hell!"

"Yesterday evening Henry and Lauren Kingsly were found dead in there home. Police did an autopsy and were unable to determine the cause of death. The only evidence on the scene was a message written in blood on the wall. That message said 'They didn't love me.'"

A man was watching the news late at night. The rest of his family were already asleep. He was just waiting for the sports to come one the channel. His daughter was sleeping peacefully in her room, until a voice woke her up.

"Do you love me?"
