Serena walked along the sidewalk watching the street lights reflect off the pavement. It was raining hard and she didn't seem to realize her surroundings. She kicked at the water thinking... her mind reeling crazily as to what just happened. She saw Mamoru sitting in a restaurant with a beautiful tall brunette... "Beautiful... more beautiful than me..." she thought, not a tear dropping. She felt emotionless, blank; she didn't know how to express anything. It was as if it was on TV. You see these things all the time and when you see it too much... you lose reality. Nothing surprises you or moves you; you're just a blank moving vessel. She stared at her palm and looked at the back of the band of her ring she had received from him. Still no emotion... By this time she was soaking wet and her hair was falling out of its usual cascade. She had reached her home. All she wanted to do was go up to her room and get in warmer clothes and roll in a blanket and just die because of her blankness. "Does this mean I don't love him? What is this feeling... I always care... I don't... don't never care." She thought walking right by her mother who was asking how her day was. Serena politely answered "great" in a blank voice and continued walked like the undead not quite zombie. She let her hair down and undressed and put her pajamas on and grabbed her blanket. She then sat there crying but didn't feel pain... well except the pain of not feeling pain. The phone started to ring and ring and ring. "Serena! Mamoru is on the phone!!" her mom screamed. Serena didn't want to move... she felt that maybe if she didn't pick up the phone some emotion HAD to come out, but her body didn't obey and got up and picked it up. "Hello?" "SERENA!! Hey! How was your day? Anything new?" Mamoru chanted in an annoyingly cheery mood. "Great." Serena said blankly. She listened to him ramble on about a funny thing that happened in his college class which was a bit odd for him seeing how he was always calm waiting for her to start rambling. "I met Rinella today. We went to get coffee." He said. "Rinella who the hell is Rinella" Serena thought. "Who's Rinella Mamoru?" She asked blankly confused. "OH! I forgot to tell you! She is my cousin! We were just having a yearly meeting like we do every year." Mamoru said. "I thought Mamo-chan didn't have any relatives..." Serena thought. She let Mamoru ramble on about his day and then they said their good-byes... Serena was confused... and very suspicious... She had a feeling she should meet this Rinella...
