Author's Note: I love the song Starlight by Taylor Swift. :3 Now onto the story...
As Natara smiled in the moment, she thought to herself.
What if he doesn't think I'm good enough?
What if I don't look pretty?
What if...
Thoughts were racing through her mind.
She was panicking in silence. But then she realized she needed to stay calm.
Being frustrated is the thing that will make things go wrong very quickly.
Mal glanced over to her. She was sitting in the passenger seat of the car.
"So, what kind of foods do you like to eat?" Mal asked in a very nervous way.
Natara paused. She thought for a second then responded, "Anything. Pizza.. Chinese food.."
"Well, there's a Pizzeria on 7th Avenue just up ahead." He knew it would be a lovely date.
Nat then smiled, "Perfect! This will be the perfect first date."
As if Natara took the words right out of his brain and said them.
They pulled up to the Pizzeria, Mal eyed her curvaceous figure. "Wow," he said with shock.
Natara's gorgeous smile turned into a frown. "I knew I looked shitty," as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"No, no, no! You don't look like shit, you look attractive." He wiped the tears.
She blushed and hugged Mal tightly. "Hee," she giggled.
They went into the restaurant and Natara sat down.
Mal ordered two slices of pepperoni pizza with black olives on top.
As he took the slices over to the table, Natara knew that the pizza would be the best pizza in her entire life.
She started to take a bite of it, and instantly she thought it was amazing.
Both of them walked out of there with a smile.
Mal started driving out of there when Nat said, "I now love black olives."
"Heh. I thought you might."
They arrived to a lake and Natara turned the radio on.
He said, "look at you, worrying too much about things you can't change.
you'll spend your whole life singing the blues if you keep thinking that way."
he was trying to skip rocks on the ocean, saying to me
"don't you see the starlight, starlight? don't you dream impossible things?"
"I think this is a really good song." Natara said with a smile, her cheeks turning rosy red.
Ooh ooh, he's talking crazy
ooh ooh, dancing with me
ooh ooh, we could get married
have ten kids and teach them how to dream.
As she sang along, Mal suddenly knew that she was the love of his life.
Inspired by the song, they got out of the car and danced under the moonlight by the lake.
"Back to work tomorrow..." Mal suddenly felt down.
"Yeah," Nat paused and giggled. "Wonder what Kai and the others will think of us."
Mal pressed his lips against Natara's. "Their opinion doesn't matter, but it'll be great if they do accept us."
"Definitely." Natara started making her way to the lake, dipping her feet in.
Mal glanced over to her and said, "I would love to take a swim but we have no idea what's in that lake."
"...Right. Well, I think it's getting late."
He nodded, agreeing with her. "I'd love to drive you home."
They both got into the car and headed to Natara's apartment.
When they arrived to their destination, Natara got out and Mal followed.
"Well goodnight Nat," he said hoping this would be forever.
She then kissed him on the cheek. "Goodnight Mal." Then she walked into the building.
Mal grinned, got in his car, and was ready a new day.
A new day of being with Natara. Hoping their relationship would be forever.
