A Simple Question
"What was that?! " Katara practically screamed at her friend.
"Jeeze, Sugar Queen way to over-react." Was Toph's response to her gapping friend. "It's just a simple question. Is the Prince handsome?"
"…. duh ….. wha …. How would I know that? …… Why would you even ask me something like that anyways?" Katara stuttered back.
" Oh come on Katara … isn't it every girls fantasy to be rescued by a handsome Prince? And I'm pretty sure Zuko jumping in front of me to stop that lightning attack then carting me off to safety qualifies as him saving me."
" Don't look at me like that. I know I'm not the girliest girl that has ever lived, but I was raised hearing those types of stories. I can't help but think about such things. I know Zuko is a Prince, but is he a handsome Prince?"
When Toph started this conversation she was genuinely interesting in knowing what Zuko looked like or rather what another girl would say he looked like, but given her friend's reaction so far she was beginning to become very interested in Katara's response to the question.
All Katara could do was blink at Toph and stare blankly. Ever since Zuko had joined the group she had either watched him like a Tiger-Hawk, just in case he was going to try something sinister, or just out right ignored him. She hadn't bothered to see him for anything less than the low life that betrayed her. The Fire Nation Prince. Someone she absolutely loathed. Maybe.
Now that she was actually thinking about it, it had suddenly occurred to her that he was in fact a teenaged boy. No older than her brother. She took a moment to focus on the boy in question. Thinking it over she began comparing him to all the other boys she has come into contact with. Now that she was thinking about it, yes, yes he was handsome. Quite so …… possibly the most attractive boy she has meet so far in her travels. Even more so than Jet whom she had previously thought to be absolutely gorgeous.
Although Toph couldn't see like the average person, she could see more than people could ever know. And from what she could see, whatever line of thought Katara had was probably the reason for that smile that was gracing her face right now.
Now the real question, 'Do I call her on it right now or wait till later?'
