Maria sat in the front seat of the van, in the Kmart parking lot. She looked through the seven bags of food and other things the group needed. She was looking for one thing in particular. The photos.
During Max and Liz's wedding Kyle had bought a few disposable cameras. She made sure to get doubles. One set for them, and another to send along with the journal Liz was sending back to her parents.
She soon found what she was looking for. She pulled out the two folders and looked at them. She opened the first one, and started to flip through the photos.
"Kyle must have forgotten to set the camera right." She mused. All of the photos Kyle took where in the landscape mode. The pictures still showed everything, but they just showed a bit more of the inside of the small church. She looked at the last few. They where all group shots. The church caretaker had taken the photos so all the group, plus the priest could be in a few shots. Maria took the last shot out and started at it.
"Who knows, maybe there might be another wedding someday if I can get Space Boy to……" She stopped cold.
Her face was frozen just staring at the picture. "No it can't be that's impossible!" She stared to cry so hard she could hardly breathe.
Sometime later the van pulled up to the small cabin.
"Finally, Maria its only ten minutes to the store. You where gone over an hour." Liz said as she opened the door for Maria. But Liz quickly noticed her best friends face. "Maria! What is it? You look…."
Maria wiped the tears away. "Liz just call everyone in here."
Liz went into the living room, "Guys get in here." Soon Max, Kyle, Isabel, Michael came running in. "Maria did something happen?" Michael asked as he saw his girlfriends face. Maria just sat down in the nearest chair, and pulled out the picture from the bag. She looked at it again to make sure she wasn't crazy.
She looked at everyone. "I need to ask something first. Did any of you do any of your alien stuff to the cameras?"
The group all looked at each other. Max was the first to speak. "Maria we didn't do anything to them. What's going on?"
Maria just slid the photo on the table over to them. They where still confused. "What? So we have to crop the photos a bit. It's not that much….." Kyle started. "No," Maria said. "Look in the upper level. Tell me I'm not going crazy."
Isabel leaned in for a look. "I don't see anything…." Then she saw it, and she started to cry as much as Maria had. Max, Michael and Kyle looked at each other for a second, and then looked. They all looked stunned.
Max sat down hard. "I swear we didn't do it. It has to be real."
Maria nodded. "I checked the negative it's on there to."
Isabel sat down and smiled. "I hope to god that's its real, it has to be." She gazed down at the picture. Her eyes held on their group smiling for the camera, then she looked up at the upper part of the church. On one of the benches sat someone who couldn't have been there, some with a slight glow around him.
There sat Alex Whitman, and he was smiling.
