I noticed that this place needs more Bakemonogatari fics. Desperately.

Disclaimer: I do not own Bakemonogatari.

Chapter 1: Bitter

I wondered why she had brought me to this place. The playground where we had conversed before. She hadn't talked, Senjougahara, and I hadn't tried to evoke an urge of conversation.

I had simply received her text asking me to come walk with her.

She sat on a bench with her bag slumping beside her. I followed suit and pretended to fiddled with my phone.

She watched a fly buzzing near a trash bin, ignoring my presence. The sky was blue and mostly cloudless.

The few nimbus clouds that dotted the sky looked fake. Maybe it was a sign?

The calm before the storm?

She looked withdrawn.

Cold.

Calculating.

As usual...

"A fly is only as significant in this world as the human mind has made it out to be." She spoke suddenly, looking into my eyes severely.

I braced for the impact of cold calculated verbal belittlement.

"The same holds true with everything else Araragi-kun."

What she said next I would not expect out of her graceful mouth or on her facade adoring face.

Her look changed from intimidating to tired. "Who's to say that rule does not apply to us? That humans are just as... Insignificant."

I remained silent and looked to the clouds. Maybe I was expecting more.

I didn't like Senjougahara like this.

Doubting herself it seemed.

Pitiful.

Lonely.

Jealous...

Okay so maybe I had been a little more hard headed than usual as of late. But I can't help it. It's who I am. I have to help any of these people who I cross paths with. Senjougahara understands that.

But It doesn't help that they're all girls...

Maybe I should start from the beginning.

I'll try to keep up on getting the chapters written.
