The image of her invaded his thoughts. He had tried occupying himself in every way possible to get her out of his mind, which wasn't much to begin with. He had poured himself couple of shots of Svedka. He had barely been able to afford the ten dollar bottle and it had done nothing to get his mind off of her. Why did she keep appearing? Her with her platinum blonde hair. Her brown eyes.
'God, I loved her eyes,' he thought. They were like molten gold. The emotions they held… every emotion that they held would draw him in. People said a person's eyes were the window to their soul. If that were true the damn moroi royal must have been really bad at interpreting anything other than auras because he could not figure the young Alchemist out for the life of him.
The brown haired boy paced back and forth in his bedroom. He let out a sigh as he reached in his pant's pockets and pulled out his pack of cigarettes, opening it up only to see that there was only one left. His green eyes narrowed. Great, now he was out of cigarettes too along with having no money.
Raising the last cancer stick up to his mouth, he lit it. Slowly, Adrian made his was out of his bedroom and out towards the kitchen. As he stood there taking a drag, he looked over into the dark living room. There sat his blank canvas and his set of paints. He had yet to start on his next assignment for his class and it was due tomorrow. Not that it matter much, he wasn't getting a grade for the class anyways. He was merely auditing.
And yet again his thoughts were back on her, on Sydney Sage. He was auditing the only two classes he was taking because of her. She had managed to take money out of the Alchemist's funds and pay the tuition for him to stay in the class. She was the only one that believed in him, even if it was just the belief that he could do well in an art class. Taking one last drag out of his cigarette, he put it out in the sink.
Adrian stood there staring blankly at the canvas for a second before he took his seat and started to paint. He continued to move his brush between the surface of the fabric and the palette to pick more color for hours. The whole time the blonde who thought his kind were a bunch of monsters, who was scared of magic, who was disappointed in him when he wasted her time, and who was full of pride, so sure of herself, of her intelligence. And by the end of it all, that girl was what was on the canvas. He had drawn her four different times and each looked almost exactly identical. However, there was a small difference and that was in her eyes. Her eyes held all the emotions. He managed to capture her soul in her eyes.
And as he got up to turn out the lights, he came to his realization. He knew that that girl would never leave his mind. Sydney Sage was there to stay and he would have to get use to always thinking about her.
