Delia Tatum found her panties at the foot of the bed and pulled them on as she stood up. Her bra and jeans were on the floor, next to her boyfriend, Zach Richie's boxers. She picked up the boxers and tossed them to Zach. He made no attempt to move; he just lied naked on his bed while Delia clasped her bra and pulled on her jeans.
"Your parents are going to be home soon," Delia reminded him.
While Zach cleaned himself up and got dressed, Delia looked for her shirt. "Where did you toss my shirt?"
"I think it's over by the window."
Delia walked over to the window and found her sweater crumpled underneath it. She bent over to pick it up, but when she stood back up, something in Zach's backyard caught her eye. She moved closer to the window and realized it was a clown. It looked up at her and she stumbled back.
"Holy shit, Zach! There's a clown in your backyard." Delia scrambled to put her shirt on. There was nothing in Zach's room that could be used as a weapon and her shoes were by the front door.
Zach peered through the window. The confused and angry look on his face told Delia the clown was still out there. "We need to get out of here."
Zach took Delia's hand pulled her out of his room and into the hallway. Halfway down the stairs, they heard the back door slam open. Zach motioned for her to be quiet. Slowly, they continued down the stairs.
The house was dark; they couldn't see anything other than shadows vaguely taking the shape of the banister and the picture frames on the wall. Not being able to see unnerved Delia, but it also meant the clown couldn't see them.
They were only a few feet from the front door when Zach tripped over something. He fell, bringing Delia down on top of him. Whatever he tripped over rolled noisily across the wooden floor. The kitchen light came on, casting light over them.
Delia couldn't hold in the scream when she saw Pennywise standing in the doorway of the kitchen. A helium tank lay on the floor at his feet.
Delia jumped up and tried to get to the front door. Pennywise ran after her, but Zach grabbed his ankle and pulled him down. Pennywise hit Delia's legs, knocking her over. Squirming under the clown, Delia tried to get her legs free, but they were pinned under the clown and Zach as they wrestled on the floor.
Pennywise grabbed Zach by the hair and dragged him over to the helium tank. Before Delia even had a chance to get to her feet, Pennywise slammed Zach's face against the tank. The filler valve impaled Zach's eye.
Delia screamed as Pennywise lifted Zach's head and slammed it down on the valve again and again. She forced herself to look away from the blood and pieces of Zach's eye and flesh. She ran for the door, ignoring her hurt ankle. When she flung the door open, she was greeted with a large bouquet or red balloons on the front porch. She fought her way through them until she was able find the steps. Delia ran as fast as she could away from the house, never looking back.
