Night Ritual
Night breaks
over the horizon as I watch
from my perch of night.
the stars veil me and
the wind shields me
As the moon crests the valley.
The blackbirds settle as the owls
rise
creatures as dark as I.
My hair ripples with the sea,
And twists with the breeze.
I begin a journey
to cleanse myself,
a ritual,
a clandestine
prophecy
of health and well-being.
In the dark of the night.
As the sun rises
I vanish swiftly, solemnly.
